July is hydrangea season! Hydrangeas are one of my all time favorite flowers and they are in full bloom! We have several varieties in the back yard and I brought some in to create a simple but beautiful centerpiece for this summer tablescape. This hydrangea and mercury glass tablescape brings two of my favorites together.

We love to eat outside during the summertime but it’s been blazing hot around here so I set the table in the kitchen. We can still view the beautiful backyard but remain cool inside. It has been crazy temps reaching into triple digits for days in a row. CraZy!!!

Details in setting a hydrangea and mercury glass tablescape
A line of mercury glass vases are casually spread down the center of the kitchen table spilling over with pretty hydrangea blooms. The vases are complimented with mercury glass votives sprinkled around the table, which create a pretty glow.

The plate stack has an accent glass plate to tie in with all the Mercury glass pieces. The dinner plate is a white Wonki Ware plate, which you can read all about here{my latest dish obsession}. The plate stack is grounded by willow chargers, which I picked up years ago at Pier1 back when the stores were still around.

The napkins are well worn April Cornell linens and adorned with assorted vintage silver napkin rings. Mother-in-law M got us the napkins when we were newlyweds so the napkins could also be considered vintage as well. Lol. The muted and faded colors in the linen napkins compliment the hydrangeas.

The flatware and glassware are also both vintage. The water goblets we inherited from my parents and the wine glasses we inherited from my parental grandparents. I love the European scale of the wine glasses with the delicate etching. Family heirlooms are the best! Aren’t they?

The table is pretty simple and sparse on purpose to let the hydrangeas shine! This hydrangea and mercury glass tablescape is perfect for a casual yet special meal.

These hydrangeas just make me so happy! Do you have flowers in your yard you clip and use to decorate? I hope to have a cutting garden some day.

Hydrangeas beyond the tablescape
Hydrangeas are always a favorite of mine to clip and use around the house. Here they are in a basket to greet our guests at the front door, mingled with some of the limelight hydrangeas.

They have also decorated many rooms inside our home, including the dining room here.

I love these hydrangeas in my green bottle collection{through the seasons – green bottle collection}. Hydrangeas are fun to arrange and they bring a brightness to the kitchen, which I love and instantly makes me smile.

Not only do these hydrangeas grace our home when they are perky and fresh but also when they are dry and become a bit moody.

Here’s a teensie weensie bit of Fall inspo since I noticed some stores are starting to turn merchandise over to Autumn. But I am SO not ready and wasn’t I just talking about triple digit temps? SO on that note, back to our regularly scheduled program.

I hope you found the hydrangea and mercury glass tablescape with all the summer feels inspirational and you are enjoying the lazy days of summer.
