Thanksgiving week is upon us folks and it’s a favorite around here! I am sure it is for many people as well. I love setting the mood around our home. Here are some Thanksgiving welcome ideas from our home to yours.

Come on in and let me share our welcoming home for Thanksgiving. The bulk of the shopping is done, which only leaves Mr. Turkey to be picked up on Wednesday so it’s all about enjoying our family time together with festive vibes all around us.

things you can do to inspire Thanksgiving welcome ideas
Set a Pretty Table
The Thanksgiving holiday is centered around the meal and a pretty table setting honors the tradition.

Setting the table well in advance avoids last minute stress. This way I can enjoy the process. I also allow plenty of time to dig out all the oversized and special serving pieces.

I actually have shared some of the elements of our table this year. The center piece I shared here {thrifted goodies – the Thanksgiving cornucopia edition}.

The leaf chargers and placards you can read about here {a leaf inspired table design} and here {leafy plate chargers DIY}.

Greet Your Guests at the Door
Your front door should smile and greet your guests as they arrive on your stoop.

I simply added this ” give thanks” sign to my everyday wreath. It’s easy and it gives all the Thanksgiving vibes.

I have the details on how I created the tag signs many years ago on this post {Thanksgiving welcome}.

From the front door into the house I always like to keep the foyer festive and seasonal too.

Bring the Cheer from the Front Stoop into the Foyer
Seasonal vignettes in the foyer are constant around here. It’s the first space your guests enter so you want a welcoming impression.

You can read about my foyer styling philosophy in this post {how to decorate a spring foyer}.

There are a couple of details that give a nod to the holiday of gratitude with a vintage postcard and woven pumpkins.

I also created this burlap mini wreath with all the fall vibes. I will share a post on the DIY and how it will transition into Christmas decor.

Start the Cheer at the Curb
Curb appeal is so important to make your home appealing and welcoming.

Add some seasonal details to welcome your guests before they even get out of the car. It instantly creates excitement and cheer.

It doesn’t have to be anything extravagant, expensive or over the top.

Just a couple of details to acknowledge the season and create a festive mood.

Create a seasonal vignette
Besides the foyer another spot I love to dress up seasonally is the living room mantel.

It’s dressed up with a very understated fall vibe with copper accents and frosted pine cones.

This simple styling will also easily transition into Christmas magic right after Thanksgiving.

Of course there are plenty of twinkling lights from the votives on the mantel to candles on the hearth to the soon to be roaring fire in the fireplace.

Happy Thanksgiving to You and Yours
Wishing you and your loved ones a lovely Thanksgiving celebration.

We will get our Christmas tree on Friday as a family since the kids are home from college. We will continue this tradition as long as we can.

I am excited for the Christmas magic to begin. Bring on the festivities, joy and merriment!

“Gratitude is a quality similar to electricity: It must be produced and discharged and used up in order to exist at all.”
William Faulkner
