order

Resolution08_2My one, little word for 2008.  You can read more about the word thing on Ali Edward’s blog.  Last year instead of making a resolution per say, I picked a word instead & tried to achieve whatever that was throughout the year.  It just seems more attainable to me than the usual resolutions.  anyway, I started scrapping my resolutions (or whatever you want to call them) a few years back for a challenge.  I like doing it ‘cuz it’s my way of showing commitment, kwim?  Anyway, so here is mine for this year.  The journaling reads: “my one, little word for 2008- {ORDER}  I seek order!  I want to maintain order in my life, keeping all things in order.  Order in my schedules, closets, routines, classes, interests, SUV, family, garden, relationships, chores, home, everything….. I’m striving for order in my life!  My Resolve: An orderly 2008!”  The ironic part about it is I made a really “messy” layout for my chosen word “order”.  This is messy for me anyway.  plenty of layering & just fun stuff that I like, crowns, scrolls, chandelier, etc.  No bling though, can you believe it?  The other things I did was used A LOT of my handwriting and paint.  I hope to experiment more in my paper crafting this year & I figured what better way to start than with this layout?  Currently I’m taking the “got paint?” class with Emily Falconbridge at Big Picture Scrapbooking.  this should really jump start my year outside my comfort zone!  Can’t wait.  I’m already loving this week’s homework: an art journal with several paint techniques.  I haven’t done it yet but I’ll try to post when I’m done.  And I leave you as I pound my gavel & request some “order”!

Hmm. Interesting choice. I’m still thinking on mine. Can’t wait to see your projects from Em’s class. She rocks. I’ve been following her stuff for a while.
I love the new header you put up. I’ve been a big fan of grey FOREVER. I’m just lovin’ how popular it is right now!

Love the layout–mine are getting so simple lately–I’m ready for a layered look. I’m in Emily’s class too! I did the first week–I just haven’t posted yet.

I love hearing from you!
