So much has happened since I last hung around here. We just had a fabulous Christmas season and wanted to jump in here and share some of the magic plus give some quick updates.

Our Christmas fairy dust around our home was edited since we just had some minor remodeling work done. We had new flooring installed throughout our home, which brought some structural changes as well.

Above you get a peak at the new flooring. I absolutely love it and we are super happy with it. It is a laminate hard wood and there are several reasons why we chose to go with this type of product, Bailey being reason numero uno. I will dedicate a post to it soon with plenty of details.

Besides the remodeling we also hosted Thanksgiving and we hosted Christmas Eve. Christmas Day was just the four of us, which was truly enjoyable. Although we missed our other loved ones, it was nice to have a low key, low stress day with just us.

It was much needed to slow down and decompress since it has been a whirlwind for the last couple of months. It started the last weekend of October when we attended family weekend at University of Oregon to visit Sebastian.

When we got back in November we celebrated my birthday and Matt’s birthday with a trip to Las Vegas in between to see Barry Manilow. It has been a bucket list item for me forever and Barry did not disappoint. Amidst all this we started the remodel and we literally got the kitchen back the day before Thankgiving. We got to see Sebastian again for a few days during the Thanksgiving break and we were able to get our Christmas tree while we were all together as a family before he headed back to school.

The Christmas tree sat bare for a week or so until Sebastian came back for winter break and we decorated the tree as a family. We will keep up out traditions as long as we can. If you are interested you can read all about our Christmas tree tradition here {a Christmas tree tradition} or {the trimmed Christmas tree}.

We have enjoyed having Sebastian home for almost a month now, but I am sad to say his break is quickly coming to an end. We will celebrate New Year’s together and then he’s off on Sunday.

I am excited for 2022 and all the hope a new year brings with it. We have more remodeling, decorating and plans for the new year and I cannot wait to share more here with you.

One of our favorite parts of the remodel is the demolition of the wall that divided our kitchen to the family room. It lends itself to our life style and has made hanging out, cooking and enjoying each other’s company so much easier and better. We are a big cooking family so this has made it so much more fun for us and we hope to make some more improvements in the new year.

Wishing everyone a hopeful, healthy and happy new year! We are looking forward to sharing so many projects and plans we have on the horizon. Bonne Annee !
