happy thanksgiving

November is a blur and it went out with a bang with a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. We hosted an intimate party of 6 and it was a perfect gathering of family and a friend.

I was not able to decorate much since we are in the process of a small remodel and it took longer than expected which also took over our home and lives. It’s all good and I am extremely happy with everything so far. I promise to share soon.

We were barely able to get our dining room and kitchen back in the knick of time but it all worked out and we were able to pull off a delicious turkey dinner.

You can see some of the evidence of the work in progress above. Primed walls with no paint and exposed light fixtures. None of these details bothered us during the holiday at all. The evening was lovely although I have to admit leading up to it I wondered if we would be able to pull it off.

Yummy food, great company, good conversation, many laughs and delicious libations made for a much needed joyful, home cooked meal. Leading up to Thanksgiving we had been eating take out and going out to eat since our kitchen was not accessible making our Thanksgiving meal doubly delicious.

Our son was home briefly for the holiday and it was wonderful to share so many traditions together. An important one was getting our Christmas tree together as a family. I am super excited to start decking the halls and enjoying Christmas festivities.

It truly is the most wonderful time of the year. I have so much to share and hope to get to it all over the next week or so. Please be patient with me and stay tuned.

“Thanksgiving just gets me all warm and tingly and all kinds of wonderful inside.”
