happy new year & a little tip

I hope everyone had safe and fun New Year’s celebrations with loved ones. I am looking forward to the new year and hoping for big things personally as well as globally. We kicked off the New Year with delicious Bloody Mary’s. It was a perfect, calm day and I hope it’s a sign of what the year has in store ahead.

Although the Bloody Mary was the focal point in the picture below, I love the composition the hubby snapped since it captures the new floors and the change in paint from the forefront to the background. The floors were installed throughout the house and I will share all the details soon. Plus we started to repaint the interior of the house from the mossy, yellow-y green we’ve had for over a decade, which you can see in the background in the living room to this soft misty gray in the forefront. Right now the family room & the kitchen are the only rooms that have been repainted since it was all time allowed during the holiday season.

I just wanted to pop in quickly too wish everyone a happy new year and share this fun little tip. I love using little ornaments as charming drink markers during the holiday season. It’s super fun and festive.

It’s the perfect time to buy Christmas ornaments while everything is marked down on sale. Look out for small, creative ornaments to individually mark everyone’s glasses. Stock up now and you will be all set for your gatherings next year.

Simply string some ribbon through the ornaments and attach to the stem of your glass. I love little details like this that immediately elevate an occasion to a “special” level.

I know many are not mingling and gathering as much as in years past but I have high hopes for 2022 and beyond. I have used these drink charms in previous Christmas soirees where we would have close to 50 people and also for an intimate dinner party with just 6 or 8 guests.

This is a great time of year to stock up on little things like this. Here is another post where I touched on this topic {Christmas past, present & future}. Cheers friends. Salud! Here’s to a prosperous, hopeful, healthy & happy 2022.
