These DIY leafy plate chargers are perfect for the season. Let me show you how to make these fabulous and fun leaf chargers for your own dining table. They are great for any fall dinner party, Thanksgiving celebration or Friendsgiving gathering.
Last week I shared these leafy chargers at a leaf inspired table design and as promised today I am showing you the step by step instructions. This is a fairly simple project which is also fairly inexpensive, but you would never know it since they look fabulous!
I like to include plate chargers in our more special tables since it elevates the whole experience. There are some beautiful plate chargers in the market place, but there’s something extremely gratifying to make your own, especially when it looks this good.

how to make your own leafy plate chargers
Like I said before, this is a super easy DIY. I have made several different plate chargers DIYs, which I share at the end of this post.
Materials & Tools
Instructions
Trim leaves off of stems using the heavy duty scissors.
Once all the leaves are loose start hot glueing them on the edge of the charger with the leaves pointing out.
Work yourself around the edge of the charger alternating leaf colors if there is variation.
Make sure to overlap leaves as you work yourself around the charger to create a full effect.
Once you have glued all the leaves to the chargers clean away any glue strings using your finger or the scissors.

I found the chargers and floral leaf picks at the Dollar Tree, but I included other links under the supplies above. I used 2 floral picks for each charger so they cost $3.75 each and a couple of hours of my time. Not bad.
I chose the chargers with the floral scroll pattern for a couple of reasons. One- the floral vine pattern compliments the leaf motif. Two- the pattern in the center gives the DIY leafy chargers more of a finished look.
I love how the chargers look around the table even when the table isn’t set. They give the dining room all the fall feels even when there’s nothing going on.
I am still debating whether I will use them for our Thanksgiving table. I have some more Fall inspiration coming for those who love and host Thanksgiving, but for those who have moved onto Christmas I shared some Christmas crafts yesterday, in case you missed it.
