The vibrant, strong sunflower is recognized worldwide for its beauty. Flower heads from young sunflower plants actually follow the movement of the sun during the day. I’m guessing hence the name “sun”flower. This behavior is known as heliotropism.

I bouquet of flowers is an easy and instant decor booster anytime of year. Adding a vase of sunflowers to any space immediately brightens up the space. There are 70 varieties of sunflowers so you have plenty to choose from with subtle differences to some drastically different details.

Sunflowers come in a variety of colors with yellow being the most popular. I love white sunflowers and scoop them up whenever I see them. Paired with Gerber daisies this makes for a super happy arrangement.

Paired with the right accents sunflowers can also give some moody feels. Fall is the perfect time for moody blooms, which inspire spaces at a different level. Some draping greenery and cone flower add edginess to this sunflower arrangement.

Dried sunflowers can also give some edgy vibes and putting them under glass amps up the volume. These sunflowers dried naturally as the water in a vase evaporated. This is my favorite way to dry flowers. It doesn’t happen all the time, but when it does, it produces great dried flowers.

Flowers is one of the most popular choices for table setting centerpieces. Using sunflowers for a table styling will bring cheeriness and brightness to any table design.

Yellow is one of my favorite colors so traditional sunflowers make me super happy. I love how they liven any space immediately with their crooked stems and smiley flowers.

Sunflowers don’t necessarily need to be planted in a garden to be used outside. You can have them in containers and baskets to bring sunflower happiness outside. Although, I would like to plant some in our backyard, but that’s a topic for another post.

Sunflowers are the perfect accent for a wreath. It’s a great way to add a big smile to your front door to welcome guests into your home.

The sunflower is native to North America, which is part of the Asteraceae family. This is also part of the Daisy family, which is one of my favorite flowers. Fun MaryJo fact: my mom’s name was Margarita, which means Daisy in Spanish. Daisies hold a special spot in my heart. It’s not surprising sunflowers are related to the Daisy family since I am also partial to sunflowers.

I have a sunflower project coming up soon, which will apply some of these ideas plus more. Hopefully this will inspire you to sprinkle some sunflower happiness around your own home.

Since sunflowers are well-known for being a happy flower it’s the perfect token for friendship and gifts. A sunflower themed basket was the perfect thing for a birthday gift during a girls’ weekend last year.

All these pieces added decor and made our Airbnd that much cozier while we stayed there for the weekend.

I hope you enjoyed this pop of sunflower sunshine inspiration. Sunflowers are a fabulous late summer, early fall flower, making them perfect to use right now. I am hoping to add some sunflowers around here soon. Make sure to check back. See you then!
