groovin’ gobi

So one of the assignments in my gobi class at BPS was all about learning our “approach” towards layouts/projects.  We created this tool to help us try different processes & then discover what approach really works for ME.  I have been aware of my “approach” for some time now.  I tend to start with pictures & their story, then design & product duke it out & last comes tool(s).  SOMETIMES when I scrap lift or I’m inspired by something I approach with design.  OTHER times I start with product just ‘cuz I love it & WANT to use it so gotta figure out a layout or project to fill this purpose.  So anyway, the really cool thing about this “approach” assignment is that it took me out of my comfort zone & I had to create stuff almost backwards, but in the end I’m really happy with the results.  I’m hoping this little approach hanger might become my creative block healer.  Here are all the layouts I created during this assignment.

Tool-product-design-photo-story (I’ve been wanting to play with Tim Holtz distressed embossing powder so I chose that with his baroque stamp to start this.)

The last layout is meant to use our typical approach, which is still a work in process on my scrap table.  I’ll post it when I’m done, just happy to have gotten some mojo back.
