Inspiration for Simple Spring Mantel Decor Ideas
In Northern California we are fortunate to enjoy mild weather throughout the year. Winters are not particularly cold compared to the winter’s of my younger years in New Jersey. During the winter months we don’t necessarily experience snowfalls, but we do have a ton of rain storms, which anyone who lives in the area will acknowledge is a necessary evil.

That being said, between all the rain we’ve been having, we have also been having super mild days. The warmish weather has prompted some sprouting and blooming to start outdoors, which has inspired many spring projects and ideas to start sprouting in my head. The ornamental pear trees out back are full of blooms, while bulbs are peaking through in the front yard. I’m tempted to clip some fresh goodness and bring it inside to share here. I have some new spring projects coming your way soon.
Today I am sharing some Spring mantel scapes from the Master”pieces” of my Life library. I hope they inspire you to start sprinkling spring goodness in your home as well.
3 Simple Spring Mantel Decor Ideas
Although each of these simple spring mantel decor ideas are different, the mantle stylings all have the same formula in common. Fresh florals and organics are displayed in a similar type of vessel. One of my favorite techniques to style the mantel is to pick one or two accent pieces and use them on repeat across the mantel. Come on in and let’s take a look at how you can achieve the same look in your home.

Lilacs & Blue Jars
A collection of blue Ball jars dance across the mantel shelf to create a crisp and fun spring mantel styling, spilling out with beautiful fresh lilac flowers. A combination of vintage and new blue Ball jars mix and blend well together.
Paired with the ball jars are fresh lilac blooms from my girlfriend’s yard. The different hues and natural wildness of the lilacs brings tons of freshness and texture to the setting.
Topiary & Gray Planters
Topiaries are a classic and charming way to add a decorating impact to your home. The combination of architectural design and organic feels make topiaries a simple yet complex accent decor piece. This styling starts with two topiaries in a symmetrical fashion flanking the mantel scape.
Additional similar elements are scattered across the mental shelf, which compliment the design. A boxwood orb, faux and real moss balls plus more mirror the topiary silhouettes. All the pieces sit in varied gray planters. All the different organic green elements are made of different materials, providing rich texture.
Chamomile & Green Bottles
A curated green glass bottle collection dances across the mantel with fresh and delicate chamomile flowers. The bottles are varied in hue, size and shape, adding interest to the display.
Chamomile flowers get.me.every.single.time. I think it’s a bit about their diminutive size, and a bit about the color palette {yellow just makes me super happy}, plus a bit about the relation to the daisy family, which is one of my favorite flowers. Use colors and flowers that speak to you, combining spring colors and flowers gives you that instant spring power boost without complicating things.

Tips & Tricks for a Simple Spring Mantel
A mantel tends to be a focal point in living spaces, making it the prefect stage for seasonal decor. By keeping a mantel fresh and current it adds seasonal sophistication to your home. You don’t have to spend on seasonal decor, but rather use what you have with seasonal organics. It works every time, for every season.

Organics look to nature to add warmth in our homes. Organics can include plants, flowers, branches, feathers, bark and more. Nature inspired decor is also a great element to include in this category. Details with wood, moss, leaves, twigs and more are on repeat around here for that very reason.

Anything in mass always makes a big impact and impression. There’s a fine line between a carefully curated collection and clutter. By displaying your pieces together in an artful manner they make your home beautiful rather than crowded. Having similar or same items displayed on repeat creates an organized and pleasing collection.
