easy spring mantel idea

I am so ready for spring! How about you? Here is a super easy idea to decorate your mantel for spring and get all the spring vibes in your home.

All you need are 2 things. Glass bottles and fresh flowers. That’s it. Super easy. Super fresh. And super spring-y.

Glass Bottles

I curated this green glass bottle collection over the years. You can read all about it here {through the seasons – green bottle collection}. I have found the bottles at flea markets, thrift stores and antique stores to name a few sources.

You can use any glass bottles. New, old, colored, clear- whatever your preference is. You can also use glass jars. Just keep it simple and easy.

One of the many things I like about the collection I have amassed is that the bottles are varied. There are different shades and hues of green. Plus some bottles are tall while others are short. Also some bottles are fat and others are skinny ones, and some bottles are thick while others are thin. All the differences adds depth and interest when displayed.

Flowers

The chamomile flowers get.me.every.single.time. I think it’s a bit of their diminutive size, and a bit of the color palette {yellow just makes me happy} and a bit that they are related to the daisy family.

You could use all the same flowers in the same bottles for a really clean look. Like I said before the diversity of the bottles adds interest and depth to the mantel-scape, but I think all identical bottles would also be fun. Or you could also use identical bottles with different blooms to add some interest.

There are many possibilities, but the concept remains the same to create an easy spring mantel. This is my first baby step towards spring decor in the house and I am thinking I am going to keep it really simple this year.

Other ideas for easy & simple spring decor

  • Plants
  • Organic elements
  • Books
  • Candles
  • Floral linens
  • Light pillows

Look around your house and use items that give you that spring like feeling. Use spring colors like yellow, green, pinks, and aquas.

Combining spring colors and flowers gives you that instant spring power boost without complicating things.

This spring mantel has inspired me to start sprinkling more Spring goodness around our home. Although we have a few gloomy days with rain right now, which is fantastic for us by the way, but otherwise it has been unseasonably warm and making me want to prep my outdoor living spaces.

I hope this has inspired you to inject some spring decor in your homes as well.

As the snow is falling outside my window right now, I LOVE thinking about the idea of decorating for spring and seeing this pretty mantel! I’ve never thought of collecting the green bottles to use for spring, but I am always picking up amber colored bottles and candleholders to decorate in the fall. A trip to the thrift store may be in my future for some green things!

    1. My favorite color is green so this collection began spontaneously and grew from there. I also have a collection of amber & brown bottles for fall. Thanks for stopping by & stay warm. XO- MaryJo

The older I get, the more I appreciate simple decor. I think it is because my practical side is surfacing and thinking do I really want to clean all of this anymore? I love your simple mantel for spring with the green bottles of varying sizes and shapes.

I love hearing from you!
