Tips & Tricks on Setting a Valentine’s Table with DIY Heart Topiary Place Cards
Mixing and matching table top pieces allows freedom to play and removes the pressure to follow any set rules. When you mix and match dinnerware keep in mind a couple of things. Obviously you want the styles to compliment each other, but you also want to be cognizant of scale. Many older pieces tend to be daintier in stature and also many foreign makers have a smaller footprint. Keep this in mind, and don’t let some pieces dwarf others.

I tied my bows myself from ribbon but you can always use premade bows to ease the process. These bows are recycled from a Christmas project so I had them on hand. I included some premade bow options in the shopping section for your convenience.

I used grapevine mini hearts for the topiaries because I had them on hand in my Valentine’s bin. You can use any type of heart to create the same effect. You can even create your own hearts similar to those created here {Purple Heart Flower ornament DIY}. Making your own hearts allows you to use the color and aesthetic you prefer. Give it your own personal style so it compliments your decor.

I did not permanetly glue anything on the topiaries since I wanted to be able to break them down afterwards to use everything down the road for other projects. If you want to give these as favors, I recommend hot glueing the pieces together so it’s sturdy and secure for your guests. Speaking of other projects, I have a couple of Spring projects brewing, which I can’t wait to share here.

Whether you go all out for Valentine’s Day or celebrate it quietly with a loved one or maybe don’t even acknowledge the holiday, I hope you have the best day ever. I send you all, my virtual friends, love from afar. Thank you for being here and see you next time.
