sweet Valentine’s Day table
Hi there! I am so glad you are here today since I am sharing a sweet Valentine’s Day table styling with touches of blush and a sprinkling of sweet hearts. We prefer to stay home for Valentine’s Day, and this sweet table for the upcoming holiday is perfect to share with loved ones.
The table design is casual but yet has some special details, to make the setting extraordinary in honor to the season of love. I was excited to use my new plates I got from Santa Claus, which I shared a sneak peek here {tablescape round-up from the holiday season}.
The oversized conversation hearts are a whimsical touch. Plus the flatware wrapped in a crushed velvet ribbon infuse casualness on a bed of plush blush placemats. All the different textures add layers of fun and fancy.
EDITED: After I posted this I realized I forgot the napkins!!! 😬 I set the table right before leaving for the weekend to visit our son in Oregon, and I did not notice until after we got home. SO before breaking down the table I added the napkins and snapped some pics. SO you will notice some photos include the napkins and other do not.

The Plates
As I mentioned above the Mimi Thorisson plates are what springboarded this table design. I absolutely fell in love with these plates when I saw them in Anthropologie and onto my Christmas list they went. I am a lucky girl because they sold out fast!!!
The casual scalloped edge design is perfectly complimented with the laurel motif. AND that perfectly imperfect fleur de lys is everything! I am smitten. I have a feeling you will get tired of seeing these plates in plenty of table stylings around here.

Textures
Remember how I mentioned, shopping after season sales is a great way to get a jump start for next season here { how to prepare for next Chrsitmas}? Well, that’s exactly how I ended up with these blush pink super plush placemats, which are really not in my wheel house at all! But hear me out.
I found myself in Hobby Lobby after the holiday season, I forget exactly what I was shopping for, but I stumbled on these pink blush placemats. For whatever reason I was attracted to them, and although they were only around $2-3 each I walked away. Although I love all the blush Christmas decor many bloggers share, it’s just not really my style. BUT then I had that aha moment! They would be great for Valentine’s Day. And here we are.
I actually went back and forth a few times since they were a great price but then again how often will I use them? Then I also have to store them, etc., etc. And then I remembered Miss Masterpiece, aka my baby girl, Lexi, loves pink. She’s a sophomore in college but in a few years she’ll have her own place and start curating her own stuff. AND these placemats will be hers. Sealed the deal. I love the plushiness of these placemats and all the great texture they provide.
The crushed velvet ribbon around the flatware added another great layer of texture. The bamboo heart bowls are not only fantastic but also add more texture. Fresh flowers and a plush heart on the bread board in the centerpiece add even more layers.
Hearts and more hearts
The bamboo heart dishes are filled with cookie conversation hearts from Williams Sonoma. Plus an olive wood heart dish holds more of the sweet cookies. My favorite heart decor piece, a shabby plush heart, also shares the center stage. The hearts don’t necessarily belong together but they meld well together in a lovely whimsical way. And although I’m not a big hearts girl, for this holiday you can’t help yourself.

all the feels about the sweet Valentine’s Day table
I love all the soft romantic vibes on this table with a slight bit of edginess, giving it a whisper of a boho vibe. It’s an eclectic mix of pieces, but I think the plates center it all together beautifully. Did I mention how much I love these plates? 🙂
This year it will only be Mr. M and I at home for the day of love, since both Masterpiece kiddos are at college, but we do have Misty. We can’t forget about Misty, she fills our home and heart.
What are you doing for Valentine’s Day? Do you like to go out or stay in? This year it falls on a Wednesday and we will probably cook a yummy dinner and pop some bubbly to cheer our 30 years together. Mr. M & I met in 1994 and it’s been a fabulous ride.
On a separate note, it feels good to be back to our regularly scheduled program after my last post. If you missed it you can read it here {My prognosis & living with MS}. I appreciate everyone’s outpouring of support; it means a whole lot to me. More than you can ever imagine.
Even though you will usually see prettiness like this post around here once in awhile I will share my wellness journey with you. My word for 2024 is wellness, and I will be focusing some content around that topic. Stay well friends and thank you for being here.
I particularly like the assorted pink candles in the silver chalice. What a great idea!
How pretty!!! Those placemats are for sure out of my normal wheel house too but they TOTALLY go with your Valentine’s table!! Super cute styling!!
How lovely! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much. XO- MJ
Obsessed!! I love the placemats and the candy hearts. They are the perfect size!!😍🩷
Thank you baby girl! 💛U 💖
I got a visual in my head of Misty taking her place on one of the chairs for a valentine dinner with you and Mr. M! <3 I love the way our pups have a way of filling our lives. The plates are adorable, and those placemats… I am thinking look like puffs of pink clouds. I can actually see all sorts of table settings with them, especially at Christmastime… maybe even fall? I love a good texture. I hope you and your husband enjoy the holiday together, 30 years is wonderful!
lol. Misty actually will jump up on the bench at the kitchen table. She thinks she belongs there with us. It’s cute and then again not. 🙃 We love her, but want her to be well behaved. It’s a fine line. Hope you’re well. XO- MJ
