So I have been thinking about valentine’s day for my family, picking up greeting cards here and some chocolates there. But I am not sure what the main gifts will be.
So like with everything, I always look and review what I did the year before and the year before that, etc. So I thought I would share what I did last year in case it inspires someone for this year.
I used a deck of cards to tell Mr. Masterpiece 52 different ways I love him. It was super fun to create and pretty easy to put together.
I printed out the 52 reasons on plain paper and then cut them out in strips that would fit width wise on the cards. I used a glue stick to attached the paper strips to the cards.
Then I hole punched the cards and attached the whole deck with binder rings. It’s a thoughtful gift that only takes some time but costs nearly nothing. I bought the cards at the Dollar Tree.
Mr. Masterpiece is also a great mixologist. Yes, we enjoy a good cocktail. I got him the oversized ice cube tray from Williams-Sonoma to add to his bar paraphernalia. He’s not a big sweets guy so this is his candy. LOL.
The Masterpiece kids on the other hand love chocolate and candy so I filled mason jars for each of them full of their favorite chocolate treats.
They also got a scented candle each for their bedrooms. We all love to burn candles in this family.
Just some simple gifts to remind my family that I love them and think about them all the time.
They are my life!

Lovely ideas! I haven’t yet planned what we’ll do / buy upcoming Valentine’s Day. Thank for reminding that it’s actually just around the corner and we should start planning right now. 🙂
Last year I did that 50 reasons to love you thing as a blog post to my bf. If you want to copy the idea, check the post out here: https://dreamerachiever.com/2016/02/14/50-reasons-why-i-love-you/

These are such cute gift ideas! We don’t buy gifts for Valentine’s day,
it’s more like flowers & a date night together for us 🙂
Lovely gift ideas! I’ve seen the 52 Ways… idea before but never with the cards put on rings before. I like that this makes the cards feel more like a flip book and would encourage the receiver to look back on it more frequently. I think I’ll have to give this DIY a go! Thanks for sharing. 🙂
I still don’t know what to do for Valentine’s day and what to buy to my bf but this idea is so amazing.
That deck of cards is such a great idea!! I can’t believe it’s almost February. Thanks for the ideas!!
What great gift ideas! I wish someone would do neat stuff like that for ME! I do little things for my kids and the grands. Boyfriend is not too much of a romantic but I got enough chocolates at Christmas from everyone that I still won’t need Valentine’s chocolate! At work, I once told an affiliating student that women should get flowers, perfume, chocolate, and jewelry for Valentine’s Day. Come the day, she came in, laden with gifts for me; a single cheap silk rose, several Avon perfume sample packets, a baggie with a handful of Hershey kisses (she knew I was dieting), and a child’s crown/bracelet/ earring set from the dollar store! What a hit! I promptly put on the jewelry and going through a doorway, I startled someone who had a mad on at me into saying hello; she hadn’t spoken to me for over a year! What fun!
Yup. The big ice cubes are always a big hit. Thanks for stopping by. xo- mj
