Spring Foraged Tablescape

Do you have spring fever yet? Spring has sprung all around us here. So many things are blooming and sprouting outside, and I wanted to bring them inside to enjoy further. I foraged our yard and set a pretty spring foraged tablescape. Come on in and please take a seat at our table.

Inspiration Behind the Spring Foraged Tablescape

Simply, my backyard was the inspiration for this Spring table. Lemons from our lemon tree, rosemary blooms from the vegetable garden, and yellow roses from the arbor all contribute to the fresh spring vibes. Blooms from our neighbor’s flowering tree, which hangs over our fence are also included. I love the dainty flowers but I’m unsure of the variety. If anyone recognizes them please let me know in the comments. Next time I see my neighbor I will ask her.

Plate Stack

A simple lemon sitting on a silver chalice sits on top of the plate stack at each place setting, which sets the tone for each guest. The lemons are further reinforced by the lemons in the centerpiece along with all the other natural elements. The silver chalice is also mirrored by all the vintage silver pieces in the centerpiece.

Place Setting

The place setting details have the hi-lo feels with sterling silver flatware and thrifted glassware finds. The blend creates a more relaxed atmosphere, but yet remains special at the same time, allowing a balance between luxury and affordability.

Centerpiece

The vintage French bread board is piled high with silver thrifted pieces, including an ice bucket, an urn, a dainty tea pot, a creamer, a spooner holder and assorted candle sticks. All the silver plate pieces are filled with foraged organic elements. Once again creating that rustic and refined mx.

Server ware is just as important as individual place settings pieces. We serve many of our meals at the table family style. Having complementary pieces to serve at the table creates a cohesive and unified styling, bringing the entire table together.

Tips & Tricks for Setting a Spring Foraged Table

Look to the Outdoors

You don’t have to spend money on flowers for a centerpiece arrangement. Simply look outside to your own yard or around the neighborhood. On nature walks you can always spy so much goodness from Mother Nature. You would be amazed how much you can find when you look for it. Please always be respectful of others’ property or rules and regulations for local and state parks when you forage and harvest.

Use What You Have

I’m a big proponent of shopping your home and looking for decor and pieces you can use in unexpected ways. For example, all the container silver pieces in the centerpiece were intended for other purposes, but they make unique pieces for this centerpiece. Always look around your home and try to view things in new point of views. The unexpected always makes for a nice surprise.

Thrifting for the Win

You don’t need to spend a fortune to set a pretty and festive table. You can always find table top pieces at garage sales, thrifts and flea markets. Many of the pieces on this table are thrifted, including the accent plates, the assorted silver plate plus the glassware.

Use all the Stuff

Use all the fancy stuff on the daily. I know hand washing china, crystal and silver is not at the top of anyone’s list, but indulge once in awhile. I like to pull out our wedding china and all the stuff every so often. Don’t save the good stuff only for holidays. Letting all these special “dishes” simply sit in a cabinet is no fun. If you have grandma Rose’s china, by all means bring it out and enjoy it. By using some refinery you immediately elevate the meal and occasion. We all deserve a touch of the special stuff.
