Did you know St. Patrick was actually not Irish? St. Patrick was British, who was captured by Irish pirates as a teen.  He lived in captivity in Ireland for quite a few years only to escape to France and eventually make it back to Britain.  While he was back home he studied to be a priest and on his own accord he returned to Ireland to establish Christianity. Later in life he served as a bishop.

Saint Patrick became revered as the patron Saint of Ireland. March 17th has been designated as St. Patrick’s day, which is believed to be the day of his death. It is celebrated in and out of Ireland as a religious and cultural holiday. Today we will honor the patron Saint with simple seasonal decor.

A glass cloche is a contained space which is the perfect footprint for a small seasonal touch. Green accents, organic pieces, and homespun items creates a small arrangement which gives a nod to the holiday.

Topiaries are a favorite around here and always add freshness and a touch of magic. A shamrock shaped ivy topiary is an easy project with a Dollar Tree clover form.

As much as I love topiaries they can sometimes prove difficult to keep alive. Besides the clover might not necessarily be a shape you want to keep out all year long. A ribbon topiary is a crafty solution for a seasonal touch which can be stored easily.

Using scraps in my craft stash this Lucky banner came together in no time. I have included some supplies in the shopping section below for your convenience, if you’re so inclined to craft something similar.

  1. Mary Jo, my favorites were the copper pot with coins and my all time favorite is the green goblet. Somehow, in my stash, I mean green collection, that’s one particular thing I don’t have.
