Life Lately
July started off with a bang with our country’s 250th birthday celebration. I know some amazing celebrations occurred across the nation, but truth be told, we had a quiet one at home.
In other news, did you follow the World Cup? I was sad to see the USA team drop out so I focused all my attention to Spain. My dad was born in Spain and my mother’s side also has Spanish lineage so I had a dog in the fight. I’m so happy they won! Not gonna lie, I was rooting for Spain as much as I was rooting against Argentina. I’m from Uruguay so if you know, you know. It’s a love, hate relationship. lol.
Wellness Journey
I ended the month with the next round of the Ocrevus infusion for my MS treatment. My appointment was at 9am and I left the infusion center at 2:20pm. It was a loooong day and for whatever reason it kicked my butt. I was down for the count after that. This is my second round of the infusion treatment and the first round was administered in two separate dosages so maybe it was a lot for my body to handle all at once. I’ll have to keep that in mind for my next one, which is six months from now. If you’re interested, you can read about the first round here:
As I mentioned last month I started a new medication for walking difficulties related to MS. That still appears to be doing its job, and I keep taking it one day at a time. For that I’m grateful, but I’m still struggling with this new version of me as opposed to the person I thought I would be at this stage in life. It’s hard to reconcile sometimes.
My MS Journey Cliff Notes
I was first diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in my late twenties {1994} when I had an episode of optic neuritis. My eyesight regained quickly, and I remained asymptomatic most of my life until I didn’t. In late 2021 I had a break through episode, which provided my latest diagnosis. My main symptom currently is walking stamina. I can get around marginally and I still drive etc., but it’s all in an edited fashion. The month of August winds down summer when back to school and all the holidays start coming all around at once. And although I love the lazy days of summer, Fall is by far my favorite season.
Get ready for the rest of the year to sprint by. We’ll blink and it’ll be New Year’s Eve. But let’s slow down and enjoy every occasion, every holiday every month for what it is. Be on the lookout for seasonal posts, including entertaining, holiday and creative inspirational ideas.

2026 Fall Decor Trends
There are some varied options on what the trends will be for the Autumnal season but there are certain threads I discovered recurred over and over so I’m thinking they have staying power (for this year anyway).
I love all of this! And I would probably be implementing some, if not all of these, not because they are trendy but because they are my style. Stay true to your style and use trends as guidelines and flexible suggestions to accent your personal style.

- Vintage enamelware always pulls at my heart strings and Lora Bloomquist shares a fabulous collection with so much eye candy.
- I’ve been wanting to swap out my dining room chairs for awhile now and these chairs have been favorites of mine for years; Cindy did a fantastic job with these grain sack chair glow-ups.
- Debra has stepped away from blogging but her style is timeless and she has some great ideas for getting into a fall mood slowly.
