Easy, Flavorful Asian Slaw Recipe
Hello friends! Today I’m sharing an Asian slaw recipe which is super flavorful, but yet is fairly easy to put together. You can’t beat simple and delicious. This Asian slaw dish is lighter but yet more flavorful than the classic American cole slaw. It’s a nice change of pace, injecting International flavors into traditional American fare.

Inspiration Behind the Asian Slaw Recipe
Miss Masterpiece is the inspiration behind this recipe. She’s my sous chef in the kitchen, and she loves to cook, she loves to eat and is super creative. The dressing for this Asian Slaw recipe is based on something Lexi, aka. Miss Masterpiece, created at home for a cucumber salad, which she makes regularly. When I tasted it for the first time, my gears immediately started turning, because it’s delicious and super easy to put together. And here we are.

The dressing has huge depth of flavor, tasting far more complex than it is to make, using some key Asian ingredients. Although I love the simple cucumber salad Lexi creates, I thought the flavors would pair perfectly as a dressing for an Asian inspired slaw salad.

Tips & Tricks
Kewpie mayo is a Japanese product which only uses egg yolks rather than the whole egg in its formula like the American counterpart. This provides a lush texture with a tangy, slightly sweet flavor profile. Kewpie mayo’s raised popularity has made it more accessible in the US, but in a pinch you can always substitute regular mayonnaise. I have also included an option in the shopping section below for your convenience.

This recipe yields the perfect side portion size for our family of four. You can always double the recipe, using a whole head of cabbage, if you need to feed a bigger group. Also you can use red cabbage or mix and match red and green cabbage as well, which would be super pretty. We eat with our eyes first. I prefer to use fresh cabbage and slice it myself since it provides the freshest end result, but you can always use the packaged pre sliced cabbage for an even shorter prep time.

The cabbage offers great crunch and texture to the salad. Other ingredients I believe would be great additions to this Asian slaw are peanuts, or edamame or wonton strips. Feel free to experiment based on how you eat and what your family likes. The dressing is the key here, which provides the fabulous flavor. Thank you Lexi! I’m already thinking of other recipes which would also be great with this dressing.
Closing Thoughts
I hope you give this recipe a whirl. It’s a fresh alternative which can be paired with casual fare or more elevated dishes. It’s great with burgers and hot dogs or nice grilled fish or poultry. Let me know if you try it; I would love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks for stopping by today. I truly appreciate you being here with your continued support.
