We all strive to curate a comforting, welcoming and pleasing home interior. Regardless of your style blending timeless decor with your personal style curates stylish spaces. Spring brings renewed energy and thoughtful design to the party. Let’s embrace that.

Spring is a time for fresh and soft colors like greens, aquas, yellows, pinks, etc. Add these colors to your decor to give a pop of spring feels. Lavender and green are a great combination for this particular styling with a peppy freshness.

As we get deeper into the season more of the soft colors will start to pepper other interior spaces around here. Yellow and green are my personal go to during the strong Spring months. These colors are not only favorites of mine but compliment my interior aesthetic. Always lean into what works for you and your home regardless of trends and what your BFF is doing.

Moss is always a go to for the spring season and a couple of accents pop up here, including the moss ball in the copper vase on the top shelf and the DIY moss wreath crowning the secretary desk. A gorgeous dried arrangement sits on top of the desk adding texture and movement. This was a gift from a friend and I treasure it. She nailed my colors and style.

The boxwood wreaths on each panel door add a touch of understated texture, which are a perennial decor accent on the desk. Rattan and other woven materials are great accents also to integrate into spring and summer decor, which I will add later in the season.

The transferware patterns include florals which is what spring is all about. Flowers sprout, grow and bloom throughout the spring months and are represented here. The books and frames also includes scroll details, which are reminecent of climbing vines.

Another pattern prominent here is the script on the linen fabric of the door panels. This is also a perennial item and the script adds romantic softness and sophistication in a very subtle manner.

The antique secretary desk in our living room styling is an early spring project to share with you today. My inspiration for this particular spring styling included purple and green transferware with copper accents. The spirited colors embrace the spring season, while the copper adds a warm glow. These are pieces curated through time to create thoughtful and intentional collections full of charm and old world character.

To flash back to the last time the secretary desk was fully styled was back in the fall with brown transferware as the inspiration. The Fall accents were removed and the brown stuck around through the holiday season with added Christmas baubles and greenery for seasonal intention. These were stripped away in the new year for the styling to continue through the winter season. Let decor work for you rather than the other way around.

Many of the elements remain the same, including books and photo frames, but the color palette changes the entire feel of the styling. The green and purple replaces the brown transferware and the copper replaces silver pieces. Overall the new styling embraces a freshness and brightness for the spring season. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel every time you redecorate for a new season or holiday. Lean into the looks your like and things that work with your home style.
