A Three Kings Epiphany Table Design

Do you celebrate the Epiphany??It’s also known as Three Kings or Magi day.?OR los Reyes Magos as I grew up celebrating it.?In honor of my Latin Catholic upbringing, and the heritage roots I am instilling in my own children, I set a table honoring the three Kings Epiphany celebration with a special table design.

This special day is celebrated on January 6th when the three wise men reached the Christ child and worshipped him.?According to the Catholic Church, the Epiphany is the manifestation of Jesus as Messiah of Israel, Son of God and Savior of the world. The great feast of Epiphany celebrates the adoration of Jesus by the wise men (magi) from the East.?That’s enough for the religious lesson portion of the day. ?

In honor of this important day I set a table with a crowning glory theme as a nod to the three wisemen or los Reyes Magos.?Last year I honored this day with a mantel styling which you can see here {crowning glory mantel styling}.?

The inspiration for the Epiphany Three Kings Table Design

The table design is centered around a crowning glory theme, with crowns sprinkled throughout the table.?The crown napkin rings are actually a DIY I will share soon in a subsequent post.

January 6th is when we start to take down Christmas around here ending the celebration to honor the birth of Christ upon the arrival of the three wisemen.

Of course the glorious detail on these plate stacks are the crown napkin rings.?I can’t wait to share with you how easy they are to make.?The plate stack is composed of some glam and some everyday wares.?It’s the juxtaposition of the honor this celebration deserves, plus the humbleness of Joseph and Mary in their simple creche.

I love seeing all the crowns together in mass.?They are usually sprinkled throughout the house in different spots and vignettes.?It’s fun to bring them all together and showcase them in all their crowning glory.?

Final details about the Epiphany Three Kings Table

The French linen tablecloth got so much mileage this past holiday season.?It graced all our special celebration tables, ending with this one.?You can see our Christmas Eve table here {Christmas Cheer} and our New Year’s table here {a timely New Year’s Eve table with DIY clock plates}.

I love the crown motif in general as many Francophiles do.?These crown napkin rings were fairly simple to make, and the perfect accent for the table honoring the Magi or three wisemen.

I added some silver serving pieces around the table in anticipation for the feast of the Epiphany.?I don’t have a set menu for this day as we do for so many traditional celebrations.?This might be a goal for next year.
