So I’ve been reflecting a bit since I cleaned up Christmas.
And trying to set my goals and prioritize my aspirations for 2015.
My house is almost, almost back to normal.
And it’s nice to feel clean & look around, but unfortunately I see all the projects I want to get done.
Last year I covered the panels on my mom’s old secretary desk with this document fabric.
I’m a sucker for anything with vintage writing on it. (I know I’m not alone here.)
I have quite a bit of the fabric left & I’m trying to decide what else to do with it.
Pillows are an obvious choice, but the small detail of learning how to sew gets in the way. Basic sewing is something I would like to tackle in 2015.
And see that empty spot on the secretary?
I would also like to find that vintage typewriter I’ve been searching for in 2015.
Although I don’t usually decorate much for St. Valentine’s day I kept this document heart ornament out when I put all the Christmas stuff away.
We usually travel to our time share in St. Thomas every year over Valentine’s day weekend, but we won’t this year because little Miss M has a cheerleading competition in Atlanta that weekend so we have to bank our time share for another time.
Sooooo I’ve been adding little valentine touches here & there since I’m not preoccupied with the trip.
I found this little chalkboard heart at Target & framed it in the kitchen.
So I’ve been playing around with some things with the kids’ encouragement. here’s a peek of what we have going on over here, but not done yet.
I’ll share more when it’s all done.
I’m hoping this year to be more active across the board- physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, socially, professionally…and the list goes on & on.
And this call to action includes maintaining my home from decorating to refurbishing to organizing to remodeling to making it the home I want for my family and for myself.
My one little word for 2015 is ACTIVE. I haven’t made a new year’s resolution in years since I started using one little word a la Ali Edwards.
I love the fabric as well! The table peek is so cute and I can’t wait to see it when it’s finished! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
hugs,
Jann
