Welcoming Easter Foyer Vignette

Do you use the same seasonal decor in the same way every year? I like to mix things up and use seasonal treasures in new ways, giving the impression of novelty. By moving things around and using decor in different compositions and displays creates a sense of wonder. The foyer always begs for welcoming decor, and it’s the perfect time of year for an Easter vignette.

It’s not necessary to buy new stuff, but rather use old stuff in new ways. Join me and let’s have fun creating a new Easter vignette in the foyer with seasoned elements.

Inspiration for the Easter Foyer Vignette

Creating new ways to use old decor, provides sustainability and added worth to home accents. A couple of years ago I created a mercury glass Easter egg vignette in the foyer, and I absolutely loved it. In order to enjoy the same look, I’m using oversized mercury glass bottles with some DIY Easter eggs this year.

The mercury glass bottle usually sit on the sideboard in the living room. I simply moved them to the foyer and immediately created a new look. I added three DIY Easter eggs from last year and I love how the homespun pieces look against the shiny mercury glass. The contrast is everything.

How to Achieve a Welcoming Easter Vignette

The key to today’s Easter vignette is not only to celebrate the season, but also to maximize how we use our tried and trusted decor accents. There’s no need to buy new seasonal decor every time the seasons change. Buying new seasonal decor every year is not sustainable. Use what you have and enjoy it to it’s fullest potential.

Move Decor Around

Moving the mercury glass bottles from the living room sideboard to the foyer bombe chest immediately gave the entryway a new and stately presence. Moving decor to different destinations in your home is an easy and surefire way to give them an instant new aura.

Reuse Decor Formulas

As I stated above, the mercury glass Easter egg vignette a few years ago worked really well and really appealed to me. So this year I copied the look and feel by using the mercury glass bottles. It’s a similar effect with layered pieces, but at the same time creates a drastically different styling.

Make Adjustments

When you move decor to a new space it might not fit or look exactly the way it did in its old place. Make adjustments as necessary to accommodate the new setting. The scale of the largest bottle did not lend itself to the tray and lanterns that normally rest on the bombe chest. The scale was wrong so I simply removed these elements for this particular vignette. Do not hesitate to make adjustments as needed to create the new look.

Layer Elements

Odd Number Rule in Design

The idea behind the odd number rule is that things arranged in odd numbers are more visually appealing and create more energy.  The composition will be more dynamic if there’s an odd number of elements. Three bottles are arranged here plus three Easter egg DIYs. Plus the entire composition has three element groupings, including bottles, eggs and a single DIY lantern.  

DIYs for the Win

Home crafted pieces immediately add charm and personalization to home decor. Homespun pieces are adapted with your personal style, which compliments your home aesthetic seamlessly. Finishing Detail

What might seem like a small, insignificant detail can elevate a decor styling to a whole new level. A simple vintage handkerchief tucked in the smallest bottle, and a hanging trim draped on the mirror plus a perky peony stem sticking out of another bottle give the vignette a refined finishing touch. Sometimes these small touches make a world of difference and change the feel of the decor arrangement.

Closing Thoughts

By simply moving pieces from the living room to the entryway gave both spaces a new look. Many of the items which are usually displayed on the entry bombe chest are now on the living room sideboard. It’s a great way to give your home a refresh, and what better time than for the fresh and rejuvenating Spring season.
