rustic Easter decor vignette

Today I am sharing an Easter vignette using muted colors and rustic touches, showing spring and Easter decor does not have to be all pastels all the time.

I created this Easter decor vignette in our front foyer, using wooden accents.  I have some wooden eggs and a bunny that are hand decorated with beautiful detail.

I found the eggs a few years ago and I immediately was drawn to their rustic vibe.  I cannot remember where I found them but I suspect it was a type of store like HomeGoods or TJMaxx.

This year my boss brought in a bunch of these Easter bunnies into the store and I had to bring one home since it compliments the eggs so well.  You can read about my fun work gig here{working @ Whim House}.

I always like to have an organic touch in my vignettes, whether it’s flowers or a plant or moss ball, etc.  Here I include a preserved boxwood sphere in a thrifted urn I DIYed here{refreshing urn transformation part deux} plus a little bitty plant in a recent thrifted purchase.  I bought this little tea cup set because of those little feet on the cup and because of the Lily of the Valley detail.

I also recently shared a Lily of the Valley Easter egg on the mantel.  Yes, that little flower always catches my eye and I love it in all it delicate detail.  I thought the cup and the egg could play well together when I recently bought the tea cup but when I placed them together they really did not compliment each other so I used them in two differ spaces.  

That’s the fun of creating decor vignettes.  One never knows how the composition, design, scale, etc. will all work out until you actually see it.  Playing and moving things around is half the fun for me.     

AND the plant believe it or not is from the {winter tablescape} and although the blooms are gone I love the hardy leaves.  If you remember  I bought a few of these for the tablescape so I plan to plant them all together in a bigger pot and see if they bloom again.

The Santos bust sits on the bombe chest most of the year and you can read all about it here{Santos love}.  She only gets moved if the composition for the foyer vignette doesn’t work, but I usually try to make it work because I like her to greet everyone as they come through the door.

I also included the little plaid candle holder because I loved the colors.  As I was staging things on the sideboard in the living room I placed the bunny next to the candleholder and I loved how the colors complimented each other.  I probably would have never grabbed the plaid candle holder for this vignette otherwise.

For whatever reason this Easter season I am leaning towards a muted color palette.  If you love pastels and it makes you happy by all means use them.  The rules to create a decor vignette remain the same weather you are using bright colors or moody hues or light tones, but the end results are all drastically different which is what makes it so much fun.

And the Easter mantel is also very neutral.  I showed the mantel here{how to antique a gold gilded mirror} and for Easter I simply added the sheet music bunny silhouette frame I created years ago.

Easter is sneaking up fast I am working on completing some more projects.  We will be hosting a very small and tight group of seven of us, which only include family.
