Do you decorate for Valentine’s Day? I do a little bit but I have done more and more through the years mainly to share here on the blog. Today I am sharing some ideas and inspiration to help you in your own home this Valentine’s season.
I have not decorated for Valentine’s Day yet this year, because I only have the love touches for about a couple of weeks before I start moving on to other things. Once January winds down and February 1st hits I will start sprinkling Valentine’s Day decor here and there around our home.
Flower Power
One of the easiest ways to add a little romance to your home is with pretty blooms; whether you prefer fresh flowers or dried or preserved or faux. Adding a touch of soft colored bouquets sets an instant romantic mood.
Queen of Hearts
Of course Valentine’s Day decor is always going to call for hearts. They don’t have to be bright red and pink hearts either, but can be soft hued and delicate.
Last year I actually decoupaged some paper mâché hearts with sheet music and finished them off with pretty ribbons. These hearts are very much my style and I prefer to craft seasonal decor items myself for that reason. It tends to make for a less expensive decor piece and adds a real personal touch.
Bring the Love Outside
I also do not limit my Valentine’s Day decor to inside my home, but I also like to sprinkle some romantic fairy dust outside. The church pew out front got some love last year.
Sweetheart Tables
Valentine’s Day tends to be a couple’s night out, but this is the one night a year we prefer too stay home and avoid the crazy prizes, and reservations rush and prix fixe menus. We like to stay home and create our own magic.
I will take any opportunity to set a pretty table for any occasion. I know many of you can relate.
Flowers and bubbly are always on repeat for the Valentine’s day holiday around here.
Closing Thoughts
I hope this inspires or helps you to decorate for the Valentine’s Day holiday. It’s not a huge decorating holiday, but can be fun nonetheless.
Let me know how you decorate or celebrate for this holiday. I would love to hear from you.
