through the seasons – cast iron trio

Throughtheseasons cast iron urns

Three rusty cast iron urns usually sit on my dining room table and they tend to set the mood for the season.  The urns themselves are timeless and can bend & flow with the times always inspiring and classic.  You can read more about my love affair with cast iron in this post.

Right now the urns are adorned with three birch branches and I love the simplicity.  This is how they have been since Christmas was put away and I love the serenity it brings to the room, but very shortly we will turn the page to spring.

For spring there is a plethora of options, including flowers, nests, Easter eggs, moss balls and much, much more.  Last year our neighbor gifted me these bulbs for taking care of their home while they were on vacation because he thought they looked like me.  Gotta love a good neighbor!  I think he got them from Trader Joe’s.

I created these moss Easter eggs a few years ago and they are a favorite for our Easter table.  You can read all the details on the original post.  I am guessing you will probably see them again soon enough when I share our Easter decor.

Before making the moss Easter eggs, I used regular moss balls in the urns most Springs.

Actually the moss balls are my go to decor for the urns when there isn’t anything else that’s seasonally appropriate.  They have graced many tablescapes and they probably will many more to come.

Plants are another go to favorite for my urns.

I loved how these piggy back ferns looked.  The combination of fresh greenery and weathered | aged metal gets me every.single.time.

For the Fall white pumpkins are my absolute favorite.

This was one of my favorite Thanksgiving tablescapes.  I think I need to do that again this year.

And of course for the ultimate Holiday decorating season I always love to use mercury glass.

They can sit alone or for a tablescape.

By adding greenery just completes the whole look for me. {Tip: always ask at the tree lot where the bin with left over greenery is & they let you forage for free since they’re simply throwing it away anyway}.

I always get a bunch of greenery to sprinkle throughout the house. It looks and smells great.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my cast iron urns through the seasons.  I got these when I helped a friend liquidate her father’s floral business.  She had a ton of these at  a great price.  So I got my trio plus I gifted some and I also sold some since this was back in my days when I had a booth at two local pop up shops.
