the silver tip tree I love oh so very much

I love the silver tip Christmas trees, with the sparse branches, with room for ornaments to hang just so, with the perky profile that makes me smile.

I call them our Charlie Brown or Dr. Seuss trees and the only kind we have gotten for over a decade now.

The whole family hunts for the perfect 7 1/2 foot silver tip among all the noble firs at the local tree lots.

Once we get it home, Mr. & Master Masterpiece get it set up in the living room.

Then Mr. M strings the lights sometimes with help from Master M, depending on what’s going on with his social circuit.

Then I get in there and arrange the garland.  I’ve used this Christmas ribbon for the last few years.

Then it’s up to the Masterpiece kiddos to arrange all the ornaments, but we stalled here this year because of practices and activities so we simply all hung our monogram ornaments and the tree stayed like this for a bit.

They really do a great job every year;  when they were younger I had to redo some of it because of the ornament clusters but they learned my rules through the years.  LOL.

Do you notice the mushroom ornament?  I didn’t even realized we had this until I saw this picture; you can read about my mushroom fascination here.

Our little miss M did the honors this year and placed the topper.

It truly is a family affair as it should be.

I’m so happy it was up & done before December was even here.

I have other Christmas decor I will share real soon.

I’m baking for a cookie exchange, planning a party for the 22d plus getting ready for my father-in-laws visit.  It’s that time of year.  I’m sure you can all relate.

“The Christmas tree is a symbol of love, not money. there’s a kind of glory to them when they’re all lit up that exceeds anything all the money in the world could buy.”

I love it and do you have fur wrapped gifts under the tree? Thank you for sharing your family picture and for joining us each week at Celebrate Your Story.

  2. Thank Sandra! I love this time of Year! The gifts I found at hobby lobby. I also saw them at OSH. Super cute. xo- mj

What a gorgeous tree! I love that kind, too, but never see any around here for purchase:( I bought a few faux flocked pencil trees that are somewhat similar but much smaller. I know what you mean about partially decorating the tree — we did the same and still have the top 20% to decorate — my husband wants to do it but he’s been away on business this week. He’ll finally finish it this weekend. Sigh. Yours is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm! xo Kathleen|Our Hopeful Home

I love hearing from you!
