Now that Halloween is long behind us I’ve been in full fall | Thanksgiving mode in decorating, menu planning, crafting, etc…. but when I hit the stores it’s Christmas overload.
So last week for no reason in particular I felt like going to Homegoods. I don’t know why because I try to stay away and other times I just don’t feel like it but for whatever reason this particular day it was calling to me.
And I looked at all the entertaining pieces, the tabletop, the kitchenwares, the storage bins & baskets, and low & behold I ended up in winter wonderland.
This is what came home with.
I wasn’t shopping for Christmas.
I did NOT want to be shopping for Christmas.
At first when I saw all the Christmas merchandise I was overwhelmed and I started to walk away and then I saw that ONE item I could NOT pass up because the price was too good. And if I was getting that one item then I might as well get the other one. Right?
Next thing I know that one lead to the other and yet another…. lol, you know how it goes.
Sidebar: that’s my sweet bailey girl’s snout in the top right of the picture. yes, she has to be a part of everything and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
So the funny part is I pretty much stick to silver, gold, cream & white for my holiday decor, but…. I’ve been quizically attracted to plaids and tartans on the internet as of late.
These are my pinterest finds :
I absolutely love this combination! I have transferware accent plates and I would love to find a tartan dinner plate (in green) for my Christmas tablescape, but I have not been successful in my searches.
How great is this look? or this one!
Clearly the tartan & animal print is in. AND it’s hot.
Love this! great collection & makes a great vignette.
I love the thoughtfulness that a great wrapped gift expresses.
The thoughtfulness that goes into a wonderfully wrapped gift is a gift in itself.
What a great hostess gift or teacher’s gift would this make?
I’ll have to figure out my way to insert some tartan plaid in my life.

thnx danielle. yes, the reindeer is what got me. i saw them last year for hefty price tags so i couldn’t pass this one up. it needs a little spray glue & glitter glass surgery, lol, but nothing i can’t handle. thnx for visiting. warmly- mj
