summertime patriotic decor vignettes

Memorial Day weekend unofficially kicks off the summer season. It’s time to decorate our homes with some summertime flair and patriotic vibes to get us through the hot summer months. Here are some summertime patriotic decor vignettes to hopefully provide inspiration and ideas.

summertime patriotic decor

This summertime patriotic decor can last from Memorial Day through the 4th of July, ending with Labor Day, which is the unofficial end of summer.

Just by using some touches of red, white and blue plus some sea life like shells, starfish and coral, provides the right amount of summer feels.

Like I have said before adding flags around your house immediately provides a patriotic mood.

I added these burlap twig Tommy Bahama flags to a vintage ball jar for instant patriotic decor. It’s super easy, but yet super festive. I picked up these flags the other day @ Marshalls, while shopping for something totally unrelated. You know how that goes.

The little light blue ceramic dish is a project from Miss M’s art class last year. I love using all her little projects in vignettes here and there. They just make me smile.

The large sea fan hanging on the mirror is one of my favorite sea life items, which I bought from a fellow consignor many years ago. It has all the perfect coastal organic feels I love bringing out this time of year. Plus the sea coral pieces add a ton of texture and interest as well.

The bunch of Dalias from the farmer’s market in another vintage ball jar rounds out the vignette.

summertime patriotic decor vignette in the dining room

In the dining room, I simply added a few starfish and a large conch shell to the centerpiece we already have on the table.

A large vintage bread board with my deep round Wonki Ware bowl piled high with assorted moss balls usually sits on the dining room table.

If you’re curious about Wonki Ware ceramics, you can read more about it here {my latest dish obsession} and here {birthday wishes}. Yes, I am a bit obsessed. We are waiting for our next shipment from South Africa shortly at the store. I will probably add yet again a couple more pieces to the collection. It’s fabulous tabletop ceramic ware, which is beautifully rustic and refined all at the same time.

I left the bee skep basket and one of the flower arrangements from my recent {bee theme tablescape} on the bread board. The combination of items just scream summertime to me.

I wasn’t going to add any patriotic touches to the dining room just yet, until I opened the packet of burlap flags. The pack included 4 flags, and I only used 3 in the foyer, leaving me an extra one. I simply stuck it in the moss balls for lack of anything better to do with it. Lol. I like how it looks so there its stays. This keeps me with the rule of odd numbers with three in one vignette and one in the other.

It’s simple and not fussy, which is how I like to decorate if possible, while using and reusing items from other projects.

summertime patriotic decor vignette in the living room

In the living room I simply added a vignette on the coffee table using a red, white & blue garland and an assortment of seashells.

A large wooden tray is piled high with sea shells and the white tulip assortment also from the bee theme tablescape. I love how the tulips have grown leggy and droopy by now. Tulips truly dance in arrangements.

The seashells add the coastal summertime vibe, while the garland and books inject some patriotic ambience. I created the naked book stack with the stamped “red, white & blue”.

This post shares all the way I decorate and alter books {7 ways to decorate books}, which provides more details and ideas. All the summertime patriotic decor has me excited for summer goodness. Miss M graduates high school on Friday and Master M comes home from college the following week. I am so happy for all the celebrations and to have us all together again.

Can you hear it? 🎼 “School’s out for summer, school’s out…”

I love these Dalias in the foyer and planning to add them to the top of the front yard design. We are going for s cottage cutting garden effect on that part of the yard with mainly white flowers, like dahlias, daisies, peonies, foxgloves, delphiniums, plus more. I am excited to share some of the plans for the next phase of the front yard really soon.

Where did you purchase the beautiful milegro?

    1. Hi Barbara- To be honest, I don’t quite remember where I got it. We have had it for so long now. I do have to admit I coveted it for awhile and I kept seeing it in a few different places, boutiques, antique faires, etc. until one day it just came home with me, but I am sorry I do not remember from where. Thanks so much for the visit. Have a great day. XO- MJ

I love the red-white-and-blue touches, especially the felted bead garland. And the graceful, white tulips add movement to the vignettes. It’s all quite lovely for a summertime interior.
