It’s time for another “on a tray tour”! This one has a coastal theme. I am sharing my by the sea on a tray vignette today on our kitchen table. A tray is always a great vessel and foundation to create a seasonal vignette and we are offering a variety of ideas and inspiration on the blog tour.

First, I would like to thank Katherine from Katherine’s Corner for organizing this blog tour. Not only will you be able to enjoy the tray I am sharing here, but also the tray masterpieces created by seven other blogging friends. If you are coming over from the My Home for All Seasons blog, welcome. I am sure you thoroughly enjoyed Denise’s tray creation.

You can see all the blogger participants at the end of this post. There is a ton of creativity in this group. This is my third time joining this super fun on a tray blog tour group. You can see my previous trays here {Valentine’s Day on tray blog tour} and here {Easter on a tray blog tour}.

the details of the by the sea on a tray
⚜️Tray- I used a barnyard tin tray for this project. The base of the tray is wood and the edges are corrugated galvanized tin. It has a great casual feel, which I thought was appropriate for a laid back coastal theme.

⚜️Location- The tray compliments our kitchen table nicely, and it makes the perfect centerpiece. The woods harmonize and you can see how we refinished the kitchen table to bring this fabulous wood to the forefront here {kitchen table and chairs set refresh}.

⚜️Decor- The tray is decorated with sea life and Ball jars. The blue of the Ball jars evokes ocean feels. The sea life includes a sea fan, sea shells and marine coral.

composition of the by the sea on a tray
There are three vintage Ball jars in the tray vignette. The large one is full of dried blooms from the Dusty Miller in our front yard. You can read about how Miss Masterpiece put this bouquet together and more details about the front yard here {front yard remodel updates}.

The middle sized Ball jar is full of seashells, which I hope gives you all the coastal vibes. Larger sea shells surround the jar to continue the theme.

The last and smallest Ball jar is full of sea shell picks. I found these picks recently while visiting the coast with Mr. Masterpiece last month celebrating our 25th anniversary. I picked these up with a project in mind, which I will share very soon.
If you don’t want to miss out on any of the upcoming projects you can subscribe to receive all my new posts to your in-box.

There are three different types of sea life on the tray. The large sea fan is a great backdrop behind the large Ball jar. The sea shells are grouped together balanced by the sea coral on the other side of the tray.

There are other sea life around the tray on the kitchen table to continue the theme. Star fish and conch shells add to the coastal theme. I love the summer vibes the vignette gives off in the kitchen.

Seaside perfection MaryJo, the tray is perfect for coastal styling and using the different size blue ball jars was a great idea. Nice combo of textures and soft colors. I love the large starfish you placed near by, like they just washed up on the beach! I have some shell toothpicks too, I need to get them out! Ever since we started doing this tray tour, I don’t ever look at trays the same way 😂 See you next time!
