Rustic Lavender Table Styling with a Touch of Vintage Milk Glass

Lovely lavender brings to mind a sea of fields waving haphazardly in the wind. It tends to be an unruly plant with a beautiful color and profile, making it a perfect match for all the rustic feels. The rustic lavender table styling is paired with milky vintage glassware, which is a perfect compliment.

Obviously lavender is the inspiration for this table design. We have a few plants in the backyard around the vegetables garden. I shared this post {so many reasons to love lavender} where you can see the many ways we use lavender around here.

We added a different variety of lavender to the front yard last year, which I shared here {more front yard design details}. We added the new lavender plants around the white geraniums. I used both kinds of lavender on the table design, plus another variety from a friend’a yard as well.

In keeping with the rustic vibes the lavender brought to the table, wicker and willow pieces are used throughout with the plate chargers, napkin rings and the basket tray in the centerpiece. To make the beautiful color of the lavender pop and stand out the vintage milk glass provides a beautiful milky white canvas.

Fresh lavender sprigs are a great touch for place settings. Five stems are tied with a piece of twine as a simple touch for this table styling, but you could include little vases at each place setting or under glass like these mini cloches with vintage floral frogs.

The lavender stems are tucked into the napkin ring for this table styling, but you could also wind some stems around the grapevine napkin rings. The sprigs could also be placed on top of a flat napkin on the plate stack.

Adding lavender stems around candles adds a special detail to the flickering lights. A piece of twine holds the stems in place and gives the candle an extra specialness.

Lavender is so fresh and fragrant that simply adding lavender stems to baskets and bud vases spreads provincial vibes throughout the table design.

Lavender not only looks pretty but it also tastes delicious. Added sprigs to the rose wine fuses a fragrant flavor that is fresh and crisp.

Lavender ice cubes are another great way to infuse flavor into your favorite beverages. These are super easy to make. Find all the details in the original post. Follow link below.

This lavender dessert is one of my absolute favorite desserts. It’s great for entertaining and the lavender flavor is subtle but adds an incredible depth of flavor.

The rustic lavender table design includes fresh lavender and dried pieces as well. This provides a range of color from the vibrant fresh blooms to the weathered and faded dried blooms.

Another way to add another layer to this table design would be to actually use lavender colored tableware. For example, lavender linens or dish-ware or glassware, etc. This would compliment and play off the lavender blooms.

For this table design many of the milk glass pieces, the silverware, the basket tray and some of the glassware are thrift store finds. Many of the pieces I use on my table designs are thrifted pieces. It’s a great way to add to your table-scaping inventory without breaking the bank. Plus thrift stores tend to offer unique pieces. Next week is the next installment of the Thrifted Goodies series so make sure to drop by.
