So in the last month I have been gone three different weekends, which caused me to step back from the blog a bit {not by design mind you}. In turn it has re-energized me with a slew of new ideas & inspiration, which I canNOT wait to share with all of you. Sometimes it’s good to take a break or a step back to gain new perspective on something you’ve been looking at so intently.
Two of the weekends I traveled to Las Vegas, NV & Anaheim, Ca for Ms. Masterpieces’ cheer competitions.
It was fun, but also exhausting. her season is now over and although it didn’t exactly go as we anticipated we really can’t complain AND for her last competition her team won with ZERO deductions so it was amazing to got out on top.
While this was going on with the Masterpiece girls, Mr. & Master Masterpieces were back home keeping busy with a baseball tournament where they came out champions. Sad I missed it, but SO happy for Master M!!!
Then… last weekend I was on a girls’ getaway in Sun Valley, ID, which I had never been to before. II fell in love with the beauty, serenity and shopping {lol}. YES! It had amazing shops. This was one of my absolute favorite items I saw. Alas, it did not come home with me, but the artist had merchandise all over several shops. Most pieces used metal work and also glass; beautiful, unique items. I will be looking up more of her work for sure.
This was another stunner I fell in love with in a home design store. love everything about this fireplace but the lanterns won my heart. Swoon. Even without a mantle {you know how we all love those mantels so we can decorate & vignette them}, I loved it. The picture really does not do it justice. Just trust me.
It’s fun to travel but I am also a homebody so now I’m super ready to nest a bit and hunker down.
My home, my family and my body&mind need my attention {and so does this blog!}.
While II was away and since iIve been back II have had time to reflect, giving me an arsenal of projects I want to tackle, lifestyle changes I want to make and improvements I hope to pass on through the blog.
For instance…
I really, really want to plant my vegetable garden and containers outside.
My house totally needs to be re-fluffed and spring into summer-y decor.
All, and I mean ALL the closets need purging.
I want to start FLY-ing again {more on that later}.
You have certainly been busy, I haven’t been that busy in years, and then my daughter and two granddaughters came to stay for 9 weeks! I am remembering what that is like! Looks like you had a wonderful time in Idaho! I lived in both Orofino and Moscow many, many years ago. Idaho was the most naturally beautiful place I lived! I love the photos of the items you saw in the shops of Sun Valley! Thanks so much for sharing over at the Celebrate Your Story! link party.

My granddaughter will be on the pom pon team next school year and I anticipate being on the go a lot. I think taking a break from our normal routine works wonders to refresh the spirit. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
I love traveling, but I love coming back home even more.
I’m glad you feel recharged and that your kids did well in their competitions.
Thanks for sharing with SYC.
Wow, you’ve been one busy lady! But family comes first, and this time of year always seems to be the most hectic:) I’m jealous of the Idaho trip, looks like fun! Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm! xo Kathleen
