Patriotic Table Design Inspired by America’s Favorite Pastime
A patriotic table is a perfect setting during the summer months. What’s more American than a table design inspired by America’s favorite pastime? Just a few key details make this table give off all the patriotic feels.

Baseball is America’s favorite pastime. By simply using some strategic baseballs in the table design plus some additional red, white and blue details the table screams all the patriotic vibes, which are fun stylings to use from Memorial Day all the way through Labor Day.

Inspiration for America’s Favorite Pastime Table Design
The inspiration for the table is obviously baseball, also known as America’s favorite pastime. Master Masterpieces played baseball for many, many years, plus Mr. Masterpiece coached for many of those years. Needless to say we have many baseballs floating around here, and I wanted to showcase them on this tablescape.

Baseballs, ball parks and all that goes with the game always evokes nostalgic Americana vibes in my book. I used these feelings as my inspiration, and I put all those baseballs to work. Baseballs are sprinkled throughout the table design including crowning the plate stack and stacked high in the centerpiece as well.

I used other details to reinforce that patriotic Americana vibe. I used red, white and blue bandanas as napkins. I had all of these on hand from the kids’ and pets’ stashes. I used a galvanized star napkin ring to hold the bandanas as a nod to our national flag. I also used some red, white and blue serving pieces to add another patriotic layer.
Details of the America’s Favorite Pastime Inspired Table
Plate Stack
The plate stack is fairly simple and a bit rustic. The striped placemat sets the stage with a bit of blue. The galvanized pieces are perfect for summer table top pieces, plus the baseball crown and bandana napkins adds great Americana feels. The bandanas are assorted red, white and blue. Assortments always make tables feel more relaxed.

- Blue ticking placemat {Bee & Willow | Bed, Bath & Beyond}
- Galvanized plate charger {Hobby Lobby}
- White beaded dinner plate
- Mango wood appetizer plates {Whim House}
- Assorted Bandana napkins
- Galvanized Star Napkins Rings {Michael’s}
- Baseball
Place Setting
To keep the air of casualness, mason jars serve as drinking glasses. Not only are the mason jars casual, but spontaneously they are also assorted since I don’t have 6 matching pieces. I like how all the different styles add another layer to the table design. The varied styles add interest, but are not fussy, rather quite the opposite.

- Assorted mason Jar drinking glasses {collected}
- Ivory steak knife {Laguiole}
- Dinner fork {inherited}
Centerpiece
The star of the centerpiece is the bowl piled high with baseballs to satisfy the theme of the table design. The other side is balanced with some red, white and blue serving pieces. I thought the centerpiece needed a bit of height so I included our outdoor wooden candle holders in the middle. I like the drama the lanterns brought to the table centerpiece.

- Bowl full of baseballs {Kohls}
- Baseballs
- Wood and glass pillar candle lanterns {Home Goods}
- Assorted R, W & B serving pieces
Closing Thoughts About America’s Favorite Pastime Table Design
It was so much fun to use all these old baseballs. If you had or have kiddos in little league and who play club or school baseball, this is a great way to repurpose the baseballs. If you don’t have kids who played, you can always find baseballs at thrift stores. It’s a great resource and cost savings option to get the look.

I like the rustic look of the well used and loved baseballs. Some balls are signed by teammates or coaches, which bring back great memories. Between the baseballs, the stars, the bandanas and additional RW&B accents the table design has all the American summertime vibes, which gives all the fun and freedom feels.
