Behind the Scenes
Where I share personal anecdotes, insider doings, and a peak behind the curtain of the Master”Pieces” of my Life blog. I hope information about me as a person will bring connection and a closer virtual relationship.
Life Lately
October was a busy month with home projects and crafts. We hosted Halloween at home and I served my usual menu. I leave you with a blast from the past!

Wellness Journey
My MS journey is pretty much status quo. Nothing good going on, but also nothing bad either. I get my next infusion in a few weeks, and I plan to seek out an MS specialized neurologist in the city in the new year along with a functional doctor. I’ll keep y’all posted.
My MS Journey Cliff Notes
I was first diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in my late twenties {1994} when I had an episode of optic neuritis. My eyesight regained quickly, and I remained asymptomatic most of my life until I didn’t. In late 2021 I had a break through episode, which provided my latest diagnosis. My main symptom currently is walking stamina. I can get around marginally and I still drive etc., but it’s all in an edited fashion. If you are interested you can read my whole story here {My prognosis & Living with MS}.
October Digest
October’s content included a mix of seasonal decor, crafting and tablescape inspiration plus much more. Fall is my favorite season, and I’m looking forward to Thanksgiving plus my birthday! Beyond that I love the holiday season and cherish the memories with family and traditions.

November Forecasts
As the month of October closes it’s full speed ahead into holiday merriment and craziness. Buckle up people. Plus Mr. M’s and my birthday are both in November to make things busier and crazier. It’s a big one for both of us, and we have a fun trip planned which I will share in next month’s newsletter.

Get ready for the rest of the year to sprint by. We’ll blink and it’ll be New Year’s Eve. But let’s slow down and enjoy every occasion, every holiday every month for what it is. Be on the lookout for seasonal posts, including entertaining, holiday and creative inspirational ideas.
Trends & Insights
2026 Thanksgiving Trends
Thanksgiving tends to be brushed over in between the early Fall | Halloween hoopla and the Christmas craziness. BUT I love Thanksgiving, so I am going to give it its moment here.
Theses trends are parallel to general 2026 trends with natural inspired accents, moody colors, botanical inspiration, and homespun decor. It all boils down to simpler and more meaningful elements. It’s not exactly about the stuff but rather what the stuff means and the feelings they evoke.
Inspiration around the Web
- I love a handmade floral display with charm and intention and not a perfectly crafted floral arrangement from the florist and Michelle from Thistlekey Lane knocks it out of the park with this simple but layered floral centerpiece in an amazing Majolica pitcher.
- I love forcing bulbs for the holiday season and Lynn from Living Large in a Small House has a fantastic article on the topic and the vintage vessels she uses are everything!
- If you’re hosting Thanksgiving this year I love, LOVE this tablescape with all the green with just a little pop of orange from Home with Holly J.
- This 400 year old country, cottage in Cotswolds, England is beyond charming full of textures and layers with so many details to take in plus the gardens are full of cottage charm as well.
- If you celebrate Christmas this has amazing decor at a very reasonable prices, which I just stumbled upon, check it out (it’s not an affiliate just passing on some good deals).
- If you need ideas for Christmas decorating this year, this home tour is amazing full of vintage charm and fabulous collectibles.
- If you’re a holiday crafter, this ornament DIY is beyond amazing, with a total high end boutique feel.
