Do you like to decorate for Halloween? Do you like to craft and create your own seasonal decor? If you answered yes then you are in for a treat. Today I am sharing how to create Halloween crafts and decorations using free printables.
The World Wide Web affords so many resources with images, clip art, photos and more to create so many amazing crafts. I have made a few DIY decorations for Halloween through the years using free printables, which I have rounded up to share with you today.

every witch needs her own spell book
This spell book is one of my favorites halloween crafts I have created. You can get the full tutorial with step by step instructions in the original post here {spell books DIY}.
The trick is finding the right book to alter for the project. I suggest looking in your local thrift stores, it’s where I find many of the books I use to decorate and for projects like this. Once you have the perfect book you need the fabulous pages, which you can find {here}.
These pages are absolutely perfect! I love the font, graphics, verbiage and more. The fact that Marie makes these accessible and free is super kind. She also has a tutorial on her site, which is slightly different than mine.
along with the spell book we need poisons, potions, powders and more
Along with the fun Halloween spell books a good witch or wizard needs the potions to cast their magic. Once again you can see the step by step directions in the original post here {halloween potions, poisons, powders and more DIY}.
I chose to use a variety if sources for my labels since I did not want them to look like a matching set, but rather a hodgepodge acquired and collected over many years of witchcraft. Here are a couple sources for hocus hocus labels {here} and {here}.
These can be created from bottles and containers, which will end up in the recycle bin. So it’s not only an inexpensive craft, but it is also good for the environment. A win win in my book.
all hallow’s eve decor needs the Raven’s nevermore and nothing more
Edgar Allen Poe’s The Raven is one of my favorite muses for Halloween fun. I created a Halloween vignette inspired by The Raven through the years and {this printable} is fabulous!
Autumn created the amazing PDF which she shares with all of us with either a white or black background. There is no tutorial to this, simply download it and print it. That’s it!
I printed mine on a legal sized piece of paper. Autumn created a 2 x 3 poster board for her creation and she walks you through her steps in her post. The possibilities are endless. You can put it in a frame or print it smaller and insert it in a cloche with other eerie items.
there’s a little witch in all of us
Speaking about putting free printables in a frame, this is a super easy technique to create a seasonal decor piece. I also pick up frames at thrift stores whenever I see something that speaks to me. I might not necessarily need one at the moment, but then there’s projects like this.
I simply downloaded this witch silhouette and the Witches Dance sheet music and framed them for an instant witchy decor vignette. Unfotunately, my sources for these are no longer a live link, but I did find {this witch silhouette} which I like for all the vintage vibes.
Simple searches for free Halloween clip art and images will yield a long list of options. Although you use the word “free” in the search be careful since invariably there will be results that require payment or signing up for “free” trials, etc. Buyer beware.
as easy as clip art on clipboards
An other easy option is printing Halloween images onto sheet music. I am not 100% sure where I found these images but The Graphics Fairy is a go to resource for me to create fabulous seasonal decor like this.
I cut my sheet music sheets down to 8-1/2 x 11-inches, which allows it to feed through the printer. Then I size the images accordingly on my computer and Viola!
Once again I find my vintage sheet music at thrift stores. I love using sheet music for all sorts of projects and crafts.
don’t look now, but someone is eyeballing you
Not only is using one of these printables in a frame, cloche or clipboard an instant Halloween decoration, but using a magnifying glass is another easy option.
The Graphics Fairy has several options for eye clipart images for you to choose from. Once you download and print the image, simply cut it down to size using scissors.
It’s a simple detail that just adds another layer to your decor vignettes. Simple is always good for seasonal decor.
