Wishing everyone the best Halloween possible!
I only really decorated outside this year for the benefit of all the neighbors’ littles up & down the street. I do have some detailed touches inside but nothing like years past.
It’s partly do to the fact that my kiddos are older; also partly due to the fact that this is the weirdest year ever; and partly due to the fact that my interest level in decorating for Halloween has shifted.
I like a little bit of spookiness with a dash of eeriness and even a little bit of creepiness, but the one that really got behind the Halloween holiday this year was Mister M. He sprinkled skeletons and skulls through our front yard and added some eerie Halloween light bulbs too set the ambience. I love it!!!
He inspired me to scramble and sprinkle some Halloween love last minute. I created the oversized wreath, using a 24-inch grapevine wreath from Michaels {purchased using a coupon}. I added twigs and sticks from my yard along with some leaf garlands from the dollar store. To bring everything “together” and give it an eerie vibe I simply spray painted the whole thing black.
My son is off at college and he will have an extremely boring Halloween since he is under quarantine. His roommate tested positive for Covid-19 but luckily neither of them have experienced any symptoms so for that I am grateful.
My daughter is 16 and she will be at home with a few girlfriends. They plan on doing some fun Halloween make-up and who knows what else. It certainly is not your regular Halloween. Lexi has been invited to a party, but she’s thinking that it’s probably not a good idea. I am glad she arrived at that conclusion on her own.
It sounds like everyone is having a bit of a different Halloween but yet doing something to make it “special” in its own way. Sending everyone safe and happy Halloween {{{vibes}}}.
Notice the orange and purple lights bulbs on the house fixtures? Gotta love Mr. M!
I am looking forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas with my son home and for all of us to be together again.
