It’s apple season so it inspired me to set the table in the honor of our harvest.
There are still very few pumpkins in our area so I thought I would give a nod to our frequently overlooked beautiful bounty of apples.
I spied these little apple buckets in target’s, yes you guessed it, $ bins. although this little guy was $3 dollars it totally got my juices flowing, and gears turning, and all sorts of ideas going.
You know how it is, we’re always thinking about our blogs and the next post no matter where we are or what we’re doing. You just can’t stop inspiration.
I’m really happy how it all came together even though I had to change some things from my original vision, but that’s part of the creative process. Don’t be afraid to change something that you thought would or should be a certain way. By trying different things it gives you perspective and eventually it should just look right to your senses.
I think that’s part of what makes the whole process fun. Whether it’s putting together a tablescape, side table vignette or an entire room decor it’s the challenges that make us try or move or switch out something that makes it so satisfying when it all comes together in the end.
I started each place setting with my diy plaid fabric chargers, followed by our Williams-Sonoma bistro dinner plates. Next I added glass salad plates I picked up at target a few years back which is topped with bon appetite square bowls I got at Home Goods last year. I love these bowls and get compliments on them all the time. I’ve used them a million ways and they are the perfect stage for these gorgeous green apples.
I also used some of our everyday silverware and the glasses I inherited from my parents. the wooded slabs i used around the table are the ones I painted with chalkboard paint (on the other side). Remember this tablescape from last year?…
Ok, back to our regularly scheduled program…
I know I sound like a broken record but I’m going to say it again. I love mixing a little rustic with some glam. There’s the obvious natural apples and wooden elements along with the glass plates and silerplate pieces. I probably got all if not most of the silver while thrifting. I will be making some yummy apple recipes with all this bounty. I love all the flavors and spices that the season brings.
