Gold Bunny Easter Table

Happy Easter! The Easter table has been set with the cutest gold bunnies. Each place setting is adorned with a beautiful gold bunny to set the tone for our Easter table celebration.

Setting a pretty table is one of my favorite things to do. The table is pretty neutral in tone with the exception of the gold bunnies and the golden urn centerpiece. The table is simple with just the added gold details to elevate the design for a special celebration to honor the resurrection.

Originally the post should have published a couple of days ago but there was a hick-up with my new site design. I hope you enjoy the new look, and please take a look around. Unfortunately though, it took me away from my creative duties in an unanticipated manner. The table design is much simpler than I had planned. Let me share all the details since sometimes less is more.

Not to sound redundant but the inspiration behind this year’s Easter table are these gold bunnies adoring each place setting. They are so darn cute, and I fell in love when them as soon as I saw them.

The thing is, I bought them a couple of years ago. Why am just using them now for the first time you ask? Well, the year I found them my Easter table theme was already set so I had planned to use them the following year, which was last year.

So what happened last year? Well, I.just.totally.forgot. I know I am not alone here. Especially when you buy something on sale after the season and you tuck it away carefully for next season and then totally forget about it. Yup. It happens.

So here we are. I am so excited to actually pull these out of the drawer and finally use them. They are so sweet and add the perfect accent at each place setting at our Easter table in the simplest of ways.

Plate Stack

The gold bunny accents have a twine attached, and originally I thought I would use them as napkin rings, but I did not like how the looked that way. Always play with your designs and experiment regardless of your expectations. Sometimes these changes make all the difference on the final design.

Place Setting

I included the cup and saucer at the last minute for the vichyssoise soup . I did not want to include the bowls I usually use on the plate stack since I wanted the gold bunnies to be the star of the show. The idea of using the cup and saucer for soup is unconventional and unexpected. Details like this make table settings fun and unique.

I simply plopped planted Daffodils from Trader Joe’s in the urn and called it good. It’s all I had the bandwidth to do after the new web theme curve ball with my MS limitations. That being said, aren’t these Bridal Crown Daffodils gorgeous?!? I have never seen them before and they immediately grabbed me. So instead of the floral arrangement I had planned in my head this did the job, and I actually love the unexpected surprise. The arrangement is tall for sitting at the table so I moved it when we sat down since we eat our Easter dinner family style.

I love setting special tables like this. Most of the fancier and more special tables around here use many of the same refinery. The Lenox China, Waterford crystal and Camusso sterling were all wedding gifts mostly from our wedding registry. It’s fabulous to have these pieces as a base for most table designs. The classic and neutral nature of these pieces make them a great foundation for many table stylings. I highly recommend having some basic pieces like this to build on and create special tables.

The white linens were Christmas gifts I asked for when we were newly married. I also highly recommend having a basic white linen set of good quality that will last through the years. These linens are super versatile. I opted for the extra detail of a monogram, which I love. I know everything is a bit wrinkled, but once again, it is what it is.

Can we take a minute and admire the new paint job in the dining room? Mr.M did such a good job, and it has brighten the space unbelievably. Paint is true magic. We, and I use the term “we” loosely, used Farrow & Ball’s Blackened paint color. No more paint swatch on the wall, which if you’re a regular reader around here, you have probably seen in other tables cape posts.

Although I was not able to spend as much time as I planned on the table design, I am pleased with the simplicity. The simple detail like these gold bunnies makes the table festive for a special Easter celebration. Spring has definitely sprung around here and the veggie garden is prepped to be planted soon. I can’t wait to share!
