I’m working on a few projects over here, but they are all mid stream.
I’m hoping to share soon.
In the meantime I thought I would share a late summer vignette I threw together.
Summer is flying by and back to school chatter is starting to fill my brain.
My sea shells and sea coral and other summer touches felt old all of a sudden and I wanted a bit of a change.
Nothing crazy because I’m holding on to summer as long as I can.
But something fresh.
Green is my go to color so I thought I would pair up some of my green accents {boxwood, moss, etc.} with my collection of Wedgwood green Jasperware.
I started collecting the jasperware years ago and I love my collection but I don’t hunt for it like I use to nor have I picked up a new piece in a long time.
Don’t get me wrong, if I were to find one at a great price, I’d snatch it up immediately.
Unfortunately the only pieces that elude me are urns and compotes and it’s simply the price point that has held me back.
Anyway, I have this collection that sometimes sits on my bookcase or sometimes on my antique secretary so I thought it would be fun to show them under glass.
I don’t do this type of elaborate decorating generally only when I’m entertaining or for the holidays, but why not?
It’s not like I don’t have anything better to do {insert the eye roll & giggle here}.
I just don’t know what to do with this collection exactly. I love it & I don’t necessarily want to get rid of it, but it’s not an “active” collection if you will.
You know the kind that consumes us, and makes us giddy when we find a new piece, at a great price, and makes us smile every time,
every.single.time.
We look at it, and makes our heart race when we see it in a magazine or blog or anywhere for that matter.
The last piece I added was this odd ball pitcher with the color palette reversed. AND it’s actually not Wedgwood.
What gave it away?
No marking on the bottom and the inside is glazed. I found it at a local thrift store & I just loved how it added a different look to the same look.
Do you have anything you’ve collected but has lost some of it’s excitement in your book?
What do you do with it?
happy decorating!
