giving thanks

Very thankful to have a wonderful Thanksgiving surrounded by family & friends.  We started the festivities on Wednesday by making these cute candy turkeys.  This tradition started in our family a few years back when I saw them in a magazine.  Sebastian has helped me in the past few years but this year little Lexi wanted in on the action & she was great at the assembly line.  She ate one, she passed me one, she ate one, she passed me one….good times.  That’s part of the holiday fun though, right?  We make one for all our guests & also for some friends, which I delivered Wednesday night with the kids.  The kids: Sebastian & Lexi.  The reason I am thankful every single day.  Two very, very happy & healthy children and not a day goes by that I don’t remember how blessed I am.  I’m grateful to be married to Matt, who truly “gets” me and together this is what we do:

Sebastian & Lexi.  And this year I’m very grateful to be surrounded by a bunch of family.  We moved from the east coast so we don’t have much family in California.  My in-laws came to visit us from South Carolina for a couple of weeks & spent Thanksgiving with us

Grandma Marina & Grandpa Mike.  The kids love to have the grandparents here.  Now I’m also grateful to have my cousin, Fabianna, from Uruguay living near me here in the states.

Tia Fabianna & David.  And as an extra special treat this year, Fabianna’s mom, my Tia Mary came to visit.  Her first time visiting the United States of America.  Her first time on a plane.  Her first time celebrating Thanksgiving.  For this I am grateful.

Me & my Tia Mary.  Yes, it was a VERY good Thanksgiving.  And for anyone wondering, we didn’t just have candy turkeys we also had the real deal with all the fixings & it was totally yummy!

TableGrateful for the seven great years we spent in this house and all the great holidays & memories we’ve shared here.  Makes me a bit nostalgic but it’s time & we are ready for the next chapter.  For this i am grateful.
