I can finally share my porch for the atumnal season.
Of course my goat cart is the piece de resistance and I filled her with white pumpkins; you can read more about how I acquired her not too long ago here.
The biggest change to our front entrance this year is that I moved our black cast iron urns from flanking the front door to flanking the church pew.

The way the front door sits does not allow for both urns to sit evenly and it always drove me nuts so I finally moved them with the help of Master Masterpiece ‘cuz they are super heavy!
{ugh! sorry. I really wanted to have all these photos taken before the sun hit the porch but it beat me by about 20 minutes.}
I stacked white cinderella pumpkins on the urns.
I collected leaves and tucked them between the pumpkins, which nest on twig wreaths.
Next week I’ll probably start to add some spookiness to the porch so I wanted to share this before it morphs.
I don’t plan to decorate a ton for halloween out here ‘cuz the Masterpiece children seem to have lost interest.
They use to hound me as soon as October 1st hit to get the halloween bins out of the attic; not so much anymore.
Their social calendars no longer involve me or Mr. Masterpiece unless they need to be driven somewhere or picked up.
And not even so much for Master Masterpiece whose friends have started to drive. Sigh.
I know it’s a new chapter in my life and I really try to embrace it and enjoy it for all the joys it brings with it, but I would be lying if I don’t often pine for those little faces and giggles around the house.
Regardless, halloween will be hitting around here shortly.
I love fall and all that it brings and offers.

Thanks so much karren! xo- mj
Your porch is so inviting looking. I just decorate my front hall for Halloween now that kids are gone. I miss the ghoul’s head and hands arising from the leaf pile, spiderwebs that take ages to pick off my houseplants, and the plastic severed bleeding hand someone hung on the milk jug that I found as I opened the fridge to fix my morning coffee…I woke up FAST!
This looks like display at a garden shop. Everything is placed perfectly and the autumn vibe is loud and clear. Beautiful work Mary Jo! Thank you for sharing with us at Celebrate Your Story, and have a great weekend.
Mary Jo your porch is so inviting! And you’re right, that cart is the piece de resistance! I truly love those cinderella pumpkins and how you towered them in the urns. I also know what you mean about the kids. Totally. We have three teenagers:) Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm!
Hi kathy. I know! I decorate less & less for Halloween each year as the kids get older. Makes me sad. xo- mj
