Now that the calendar has officially turned to October I thought I would share some halloween crafts I have created in the past. I’ve shared all of them here on the blog before but I am creating a round up and consolidating them all here in this post for your convenience as well as mine. I have not brought down the halloween bins from the attic yet but this exercise gets my creative juices churning and wheels turning with halloween ideas for this year. I hope this inspires you too and gives you ideas to do on your own.
§ nevermore
nevermore
This is absolutely one of my favorite vignettes around here for the past few years. The original post shares all the details on how I created it.
Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Raven” is the definition of macabre; it lends itself for great halloween fun.
§ spell books
spell books – DIY
I created my own book of spells a few years ago, which I had wanted to do for a few years before that. So I had read a bunch of tutorials and researched quite a bit. My original post shows the step by step instructions I used.
And of course I could not just stop at one spell book. This witch needed an entire library {wink}.
§ potion bottles
halloween potions, poisons, powders and more – DIY
Along with the curse and spell books i needed the potion and poison bottles that went along with them.
I love how these turned out. All grungy and decrepit. As they should be.
§ witchy decor
the witch is in – halloween mantel
I love all the free printables available on the internet and the profile of this witch that I found is fabulous.
I always pick up frames at thrift stores, garage sales, flea markets etc. and they work great with all the printables you can download.
§ haunted glitter house
halloween inspiration
Although I haven’t really decorated with halloween whimsy for years now, I’m always attracted to all the glittery haunted houses out there.
So I decided to create my own {of course} instead of shelling out for a Pottery Barn, Pier 1 or a boutique version; I wouldn’t even open my wallet for a craft or big box store version, which aren’t as cute anyway.
§ ribbon candy corn
halloween inspiration
These ribbon candy corns are super easy to make. I’m considering making some different sizes this year so I can maybe fill a bread bowl or basket…hmmm…still contemplating…not sure…stay tuned.
And don’t ask what possessed me to create these ‘cuz it’s outside my color wheel and | or style, but I love how they turned out.
I have some ideas for other halloween crafts this year, which I hope to share real soon.
“When witches go riding, and black cats are seen, the moon laughs and whispers, ‘tis near halloween.”
