This fall tablescape was spring boarded from a couple of things that spoke to me in this early part of the season, creating this lovely early fall tablescape.
The colors are soft and muted easing into the season. There will be plenty of time for vibrant oranges, bright ambers and burnt auburns.
I first started thinking about this tablescape when I placed my faux white and gray velvet pumpkins on my silverplate lazy susan that sits in the middle of the kitchen table and gets dressed up depending on the season or holiday. I shared a sneak peek here:
Then Kerryanne @ shabby art boutique shared this free printable on her blog and it all came together in my head.
I used this lovely printable on doilies as place cards and the color palette set the tone.
I wanted to add the purple kale to incorporate the purply-blue hues in the printable.
While I was shopping for the kale I spied the artichokes and it sealed the deal for me in my head.
I’m pleased how it all came together because sometimes in our heads and reality are two very different things but this time it all came together really easy.
Good thing we like to eat kale and artichokes too. LOL. It’s a win win.
I used my parents china, which I love and is a wonderfully complete set. I miss my parents. They were incredible hosts.
For the napkin rings I used short cotton stems. As I was circling Hobby Lobby for the billionth time, avoiding the Christmas section, a saw these & the idea immediately popped into my head because of their soft texture. I thought it was the perfect compliment to this table.
I think real pumpkins are starting to pop up in our area.
I’m so excited to start decorating with the real thing.
The weather has started to cool slightly around here too.
I might have to have my 1st pumpkin spice latte of the season
“Fall has always been my favorite season. The time when everything bursts with it’s last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale.”
What an awesome idea printing on the doily! Especially for this gorgeous table. Pinning it! Thanks for sharing this at Dishing It & Digging It It. Hope you’re finding some new friends. Have a good day.

Easing into fall with muted colors is a great idea. I’ve also been trying to hold off on the traditional color palette. The printable on the doilies, the purple kale and the artichokes make for a striking centerpiece. Very pretty Mary Jo! Thank you for sharing with us at Celebrate Your Story, and have a great weekend.
This is just beautiful MaryJo! I love those muted colors easing us into fall, and you’ve given me tons of inspiration. Going to go check my white pumpkin stash! 🙂 Thanks for the lovely ideas!
