It’s no secret that I love anything book print.
So it’s not surprising I inject it into my Christmas decor.
I just made the book print tree with the glittery star using a Styrofoam tree form.
I ripped pieces from a book I picked up either at a thrift store or dollar tree.
I then inked all the edges to give it an aged look.
Afterwards I decoupaged all the book print pieces, overlapping & covering the entire styrofoam tree form.
Before the decoupage medium is totally dry I dusted the tree with glitter to give it a bit of a sheen.
I do most of this in front of the TV with the family {probably watching the food network OR football, depending on the day & time}.
Last year I made the staggered square book print pieces book in the background with the mini bulldog clip tree topper.
There are tutorials for all of these all over blogland.
a few years ago a made this book out of a cheap novel I picked up at a thrift store & topped it w/ a mini ornament.
I love my book print trio.
But I didn’t stop there.
I also found a bag of plastic ornaments in the garage from last year that clearly I never got to.
So what’s a girl to do? Well keep decoupaging of course.
Everything looks better under a cloche right?
Or in a big bowl.
I used black ink for the edges of the ornaments & also dusted them with glitter.
Finished them off with complimenting ribbon.
Viola!
This is a small detail to exemplify my bookprint compulsion.
Found this ornament sign weeks ago, before I started thinking about Christmas, at Hobby Lobby. Once I saw it I knew it had to come home with me.
Miss M insisted it had to hang on the typewriter so there it sits.

I’m almost done. The kids are off for winter break this coming Friday so I need to finish everything before then {clearly they do not read my blog ; )}.
I added these santas to my collection this year.
I had promised myself I wouldn’t buy anymore but I couldn’t resist these guys.
I’m proud to admit I’ve shown restraint on purchasing new Christmas decor this year {probably ‘cuz we own so much as it is}.
I’ve been creating, more than buying.
I love crafting items because it makes them unique to our family AND keeps me busy & out of trouble.
