A Summer Foyer Styling with Thrifted Finds

Hello friends! Summer is in full swing, and I wanted to pop in today and share our summer foyer styling for the breezy days of summer using thrifted finds. Thrift shopping is a great way to add unique pieces to your decor without spending a fortune and setting yourself apart from the mass produced market decor.

Thrifty decor is incredibly unique with incredible style without the incredible price tag. It’s a perfect combination in my book. Come on in and take a peek to see how you can easily do this in your own home with your signature style. When you thrift shop, or shop anywhere for that matter, always stay true to your style and what speaks to you. This way you will curate a signature style which fits your home aesthetic seamlessly and has a cohesive look.

The Inspiration behind the Summer Foyer Styling w/ Thrifted Finds

I used my recent thrifted finds to guide me for this summer foyer decor styling. I just shared the most recent installment of the Thrifted Goodies series last week where I shared many of my strategies and secrets for thrifting. You can check out the post here {The Many Benefits of Thrifting}.

We published our Thrifted Goodies article early this month, which was perfect timing to create this summer styling in our foyer. I wanted to show how to use some of my finds and why they work in my home. Like I said, look for the pieces that compliment and coordinate with your signature style and overall home aesthetic. Here is the sneak picture shared last week of our foyer summer styling.

The Details behind the Summer Foyer Styling w/ Thrifted Finds

The decor aesthetic that usually calls my name is vintage, and rustic, and organic and a little touch of old fashioned elegance. I always love the juxtaposition between rustic and refined. An entry hallway has the important duty of welcoming guests into our home. I prefer to have cosy and current decor to greet everyone who comes through the door.

The Green Themed Bombe Chest

The focal point of the front hall is the French bombe chest with the green marble top. On one of my most recent thrift shopping excursions I walked away with green pieces, which all coordinated and make an appearance here on the chest.

The three new green thrifted pieces include: 1) a glass jar with green French lettering and a cow graphic which I use as a vase, 2) a green leather book with gold details, which is my favorite type of vintage books and 3) a green gingham check napkin with all the provincial vibes I love. All the items together cost less than five dollars, respectively they cost $1.50, $1.00 and $2.00. Not bad, huh?

The tray vignette on the chest has other thrifted pieces I have curated through the years. The gray urn was a thrifted up-cycle, and the petite green vase, silver compote and glass cloche were also thrifted finds along the way. Thrifting for the win!!!

Our limelight hydrangeas are some of my favorite flowers, and I love to use them this time of year. I included seashells throughout the vignette to inject the summer feels. Seashells, starfish, and coral are used for decor around here during the summer months.

Gold Touches on the Gossip Table

On the other side of the foyer sits the gossip table against the monogram gallery wall. I used some of the glass pieces I picked up with the gold detailing. Gold filigree, gilding and trim always catches my eye and these dainty pieces called my name at the thrift store.

The compote holds a candle with the new wood bead agate garland DIY, while the small dish holds some sea shells to mirror the shells on the bombe chest across the way.

The antique phone and small books were from my parent’s home and I absolutely treasure them. The phone was actually a functioning phone in my home growing up. It sat on a console table in a main hallway and we used it all the time. Fun fact!

The Overall Summer Foyer Feels

The foyer exudes summer vibes for us with limelight hydrangeas from our garden and seashells for coastal, beachy vibes. I like to have fresh flowers on the bombe chest most of the time and the limelight hydrangeas play nice with all the green right now.

I added a gold velvet ribbon to the ginger jar, to mirror the gold details on the glass pieces. The gold also mirrors the bright yellow preserved florals in the hanging basket on the dutch door.

Summertime allows for light and airy decor. I love all the sunlight that streams in late into the day and early evenings. It makes for long lazy days.

Closing Thoughts about the Summer Foyer Styling

As an added green detail I include the bow with the green plaid ribbon I created months ago and shared here {a shamrock inspired tablescape for St. Patrick’s Day}. I still have the bow tutorial planned to share one of these days. Stay tuned. But in the meantime, I love how it coordinates for this styling.

How’s your summer going? We are having a yo-yo of weather ups and downs in northern California. We hit high 90s for a few days in a row and then plummet into the 70s for a day or two. It’s the weirdest weather pattern. I hope you are enjoying your summer, wherever you are and however it’s treating you.

And although summer is only half way over I can’t help think about fall and all the upcoming holidays. I am already planning fall projects and content to bring your way, while still relishing in the warm summer days. Plus I still have more Christmas in July to share with you. So much going on, and I am looking forward to sharing all of it with you.
