Fall is my favorite season, and the mantel in the living room is one of my first stops for seasonal decorating around our home. It might seem too early to start decorating for fall, but it’s not too early to start planning, organizing, shopping, crafting and more. For some fall decor inspiration, here are some fall mantel stylings from around here through the years. I hope these ideas help you in some way.

Wheat has fabulous texture and a beautiful golden hue. It adds warmth and organic touches for fall stylings. Wheat sheaths and some wheat candles DIY dance across the mantle shelf in this mantel-scape.

The wheat is paired with some tortoiseshell glass pumpkins. I love the combination of golds and browns. The mix of colors is not only a wonderful pairing, but the organic vibes from the wheat is a great compliment to the glam notes in the glass pumpkins. The pops of orange in the velvet ribbon and hearth pumpkins rounded out the vignette.

When the real pumpkins aren’t on the scene yet, you can always use faux. This mantel is styled with a collection of white pumpkins and dried hydrangeas.

The pumpkins range from ceramic to velvet to DIY’d Dollar Tree pumpkins {5 easy ways to DIY pumpkins}, but they are all brought together by the white color palette.

Fall seems like the most rustic of all the seasons to me. This rustic mantel styling is a great combination of textures and moody hues, using dried hydrangeas from the garden, twig pumpkins and foraged pinecones.

Organic items always add peace and calm to spaces. Whenever possible I like to inject nature into our home. It’s a simple styling with pieces piled high on the mantel in between some birch candled lanterns.

These amber bottles from Hearth & Hand w/ Magnolia @ Target play nice with the French label brown bottles I DIY’d years ago. My list of fall crafts for this year is beyond long, and I hope to get to them all.

Once again the styling includes dried hydrangeas from the garden and rustic lanterns. It’s hard to tell, but mixed in with the dried hydrangeas there are beaded gem napkin rings, which add a bit of sparkle and glam to an otherwise rustic styling. I always love the juxtaposition of rustic and refined.

Adding wooden pumpkins and decor plus vintage books to the dried hydrangeas and French label bottles adds a woodsy feel to this fall mantel styling.

I love the texture and warmth the tattered vintage books add. They compliment the hydrangeas well. And do you spy the mushrooms I included in the mantel vignette? They add to the woodsy theme plus feed my obsession {my fascination with mushrooms | fungi | toadstools}.

This green urn collection is the star of the show for this fall mantel styling, plus pops of mercury glass pumpkins and votives give it some shine and dazzle.

Just like the white pumpkin collection above, all the green urns are different materials. There is resin, cast iron, fiberglass and metal, but the color palette keeps them cohesive.

As you can see by this fall mantel stylings round up, I have some things on repeat. Dried hydrangeas from the garden and the Parkhill lanterns are a constant.

Vintage books, pine cones and the French label brown bottles are also pretty popular for these stylings. I do not reinvent the wheel every time, but just create a new “theme” to inject with these favorite pieces for fall. This helps streamline the process, but it keeps it new & fresh every time. Hope this has inspired you for some fall stylings!
