Prepare simple syrup by boiling water with 1 cup of sugar until sugar is completely dissolved
Set simple syrup aside to cool
Wash cranberries and let dry thoroughly
When cranberries are dry and simple syrup is at room temperature, coat cranberries in syrup and set on parchment paper for about 30 minutes to dry partially
While cranberries are still moist and slightly tacky roll and coat in remaining sugar
Set cranberries aside for sugar to cure
Discard excess sugar
Store Cranberries in airtight container or sealed baggie
