The long tailed bow tutorial was inspired to shift gears and have a dress change for each and every holiday. The red ribbons screamed Valentine’s Day, while the green ribbons gave all the Erin go Bragh vibes. Now the long tailed bow is strategically updated for an instant Springy Easter boost with a wooden dangling carrot charm.

and here we are

By layering a basic wreath with seasonal touches creates a charming decor accent without much expense or effort. Easy seasonal decor is always welcomed and encouraged around here. Join me as we assemble the perfect front door decor for Spring in the easiest way possible.

A square preserved boxwood wreath adorns our front door most of the year. Having a basic wreath which has presence all on its own, but yet lends itself to be adorned for different occasions is a great decorator staple. A few years ago we installed a Dutch door, which provides provincial European vibes to our home, and I wanted a wreath which would compliment it and do it justice. Enter the square boxwood wreath.

Today we will take said wreath and adorn it with Easter charm. The best part? It’s an easy and economical way to add seasonal decor to your home. But just because it’s easy and affordable, doesn’t make it any less than.

When I first shared this bow tutorial and hack for the Valentine’s Holiday it was dressed in reds for the occasion. We disassembled the long tails and reassemble with green touches for the St. Patricks day Holiday. Today we will do it yet again for a Spring look perfect for the Easter holiday. That’s the beauty of the long tailed bow hack; for all the details you can visit the original post here {Valentine’s Day long Tail Bow and Hack Tutorial}.

We will include an adorable wooden carrot charm to the bow for an extra layer of seasonal intention. This carrot charm is simple and rustic and just the perfect je ne sais quoi detail to amp the seasonal vibes to the front door.

Since I want to use and reuse this bow hack for other holidays and occasions, I chose a neutral color for my main bow. It is easy to remove the themed colored tails and replace them with new colors for a new holiday. The bow can be updated for each and every holiday and so on. Stay tuned you will be seeing more long tailed bows around here.

Lavish and spendy ribbons are not necessary to create a fabulous bow. Some of the ribbons and trims used here were found at a thrift store and the Dollar Tree. Big craft stores like Hobby Lobby, Michaels, etc. also run discounted sales regularly so be on the look out for those. I recommend using ribbons of different widths, varied patterns and mixed textures. This will add more interest and depth to your finished piece. Using trims as a ribbon option adds a touch of whimsy and gives movement to the ribbon tails.  I’ve included some options below in the shopping section for your convenience.

Seasonal decor can be daunting, overwhelming and stressful, but I’m here to show you it does not have to be. When you create a formula like the one used here you can apply it to different seasons and holidays. A versatile bow hack and a simple charm add all the seasonal intention needed with a subtle hand. Understated decor sometimes has a bigger impact than over the top seasonal accents.
