Inspiration for the Rustic & Organic Valentine’s Day Mantel Styling
The faux tin tile heart DIY, which I shared not too long ago, is the star of the show for this Valentine’s Day mantel decor and inspired this rustic and organic Valentine’s styling. Instead of the traditional pink and red Valentine’s decor, this day of romance vignette has neutral undertones with some green touches.
Last year I shared a green Valentine’s vignette and this is an extension of the same thought process. Your home should be a reflection of your loves and preferences. Neutral and organic decor is on repeat around here throughout the year. By adding some hearts and special accents to this Valentine’s mantel it creates a pretty display for the day of love.
Details about the Valentine’s Day Rustic & Organic Mantel Styling
Rustic Tones
The star of the show, the DIY distressed heart is crafted to look like a vintage tin tile with all the rustic vibes I love. The Milagro heart is also on a distressed green stand which plays nice with the tin heart. The mantel styling is bookended and flanked by a pair of rustic farmhouses lanterns. In between sits a bark vase full of beautiful dried florals (more on this below).
Organic Elements
Organic elements are a decorator’s secret weapon, adding tons of texture and warmth to any space. A trio of organic heart topiaries are scattered on the mantel shelf. All these topiaries were created using heart forms from previous years. A moss heart, dried flower heart and vine heart bring freshness and playfulness to the display. I will share more details on how to make all of these in a subsequent post. I placed them all in the faux Wedgwood Jasperware planters, which was one of my favorite projects from last year. .
The dried flower bouquet is a beautiful arrangement I recently received as a gift. It has hints of green stems, which mixes with my style and decor perfectly. A moss floral cone also hangs off the mantel shelf to add more interest,
DIY Accents
I prefer to create much of my own decor for many reasons. When we create something ourselves it adds a layer of specialness. Whatever it is, will have your own personal style on it since you created it. This mantel styling is filled of DIY creations, including the faux tin tile heart, heart topiaries, Jasperware inspired planters and moss floral cone.
Hanging Pieces
Adding items that hang or drape adds movement to a decor vignette. The lace garland draped on the gilded mirror brings your eyes up. The moss floral cone hanging on the mantel shelf adds movement and brings the styling down. This makes the mantel styling larger than just the shelf, adding interest and filling the space.
Found Items
If you’ve been around here longer than a hot minute, you know any decor will contain some brocante vibes. Found items always inject themselves into decor around here with vintage vibes. The garden cherub statuary piece is a favorite thrifted find which you can read all about here {A Thrift Shopping Mindset – Thrifting Remorse and Thrifting Regret}.

Extend a Mantle Styling Down to the Hearth
To further extend the styling space, decorate the hearth adding more detail, interest and completing the entire fireplace area. A basket spilling with pillows and throws adds warmth and texture. Plus a stack of books is topped off with a plant vine topiary. These items tie in with the feelings and emotions the mantel display evokes and brings the eye further down.
By creating cohesive movement from top to bottom gives a mantel and fireplace surrounding a completed look. Although the mantel shelf decor pieces and the hearth items don’t match per se, they compliment and coordinate the look and feel, bringing the space together.
Closing Thoughts
I hope you enjoyed this seasonal decor display and it provided ideas and insights. The style of the rustic and organic Valentine’s Day mantel decor speaks my love language. Always decorate your home in your own style regardless of trends. Remaining true to your style will make your home a happy place, which is easy to decorate and even easier to enjoy.
