It’s exciting to decorate and celebrate the different seasons and festive holidays in our lives. Whether small or big events, I always wish to embrace the occasion. The upcoming 4th of July holiday is no different.

We are ready for the patriotic celebration with some simple touches in the front of our home to honor our nation’s birthday. Please come in, and I hope to inspire some patriotic vibes for your own home.

Add one or all of these easy details to the outside of your home to rock the patriotic curb appeal design with style.

Adding bunting on fences, siding, porches etc. is an easy way to dress up your home for any patriotic event, including Memorial Day, 4th of July and more. Patriotic buntings come in different design aesthetics which can fit many home styles. I have canvas buntings with washed and worn colors with a traditional design, which provide a vintage vibe. This is my preference, but there are bright color buntings in different materials with unique designs. Choose something that fits your home style.

Buntings hang on the hogwire, livestock fence, which can be seen by all who drive by. Mr. M also hung a bunting on the siding of the house, plus I added a small scale bunting around the goat cart. Voila! Instant patriotic vibes.

Small, flags, big flags any kind of flag instantly adds Americana feels to a home. We have an American flag which flies on our mailbox most of the time, but beyond that I included flags around the front yard. A bucket on the vintage church pew compliments the bunting on the house. Another bucket full of flags adds patriotic flair to the front sitting area. It’s not fussy or complicated but simply a handful of flags in a bucket does the trick.

Smaller scale flags stuck in planters compliments the flag buckets. Last but not least the vintage spindle DIY flag is tucked in the goat cart to add a personal touch. It provides a unique decor accent for all to enjoy when they set foot on our porch.

You don’t have to buy or create a specific patriotic wreath or door hanger, but rather add simple details to an existing summer wreath. I recently shared the faux tin star charms I’m using on the front door wreath to add patriotic charm.

Any red, white and blue decor can amp the patriotic vibes on a simple wreath. A bow with red, white and blue ribbons or stars and stripes creates patriotic vibes instantly. .

Talking about bows, it’s a great way to decorate the mailbox which tends to be front and center for most homes. Assorted ribbons create a fun and festive bow, using this technique which I shared here {a Bow Tutorial – How to Create the most Fantastic Ribbon Masterpiece}.

A fun bow like this can not only be added to the mail box, but also on a wreath or porch pillars or stair rails, depending on the architecture of your home. Besides a bow, a wreath, swag or patriotic charms can decorate the mailbox in style. It’s easy, simple and oh, so festive!

By simply adding red, white and blue or patriotic throws and pillows to outdoor furniture adds seasonal flair. You don’t have to buy anything specific for the holiday, but you can create your own.

I shared how I created the red, white and blue burlap sac pillow below a few years ago. I use it every year and it’s a unique piece, which adds personalized style to seasonal decor.

Beyond the ideas shared here there’s many other options to add to the exterior of your home, adding patriotic curb appeal.

Buy using the color palette red, white and blue, instantly injects patriotic feels to any space. You can use red, white and blue planters or flowers. Another fun detail is to use colored lighting around the holiday.

Signs are a great way to express a sentiment, which is perfect for holidays. Add a porch sign or hang a seasonal board in your outdoor spaces. Once again these pieces can be homemade or you can find many pieces in the marketplace.

Continuing with the seasonal expressions, banners are a great way to make a statement. I created this chalkboard and burlap sign years ago, which can spell many sentiments, depending on the season.

I don’t have a dedicated post for the above project, which I will share shortly since it’s such a great and versatile piece. It’s used around here for birthdays, holidays and any special occasion.
