Autumn has an incredible amount of natural bounty to incorporate into our decor from pumpkins to gourds to apples to pears to acorns to wheat and really the list goes on and on.
But I believe the season was coined “fall” from all the fallen leaves and they are a great resource to add to our decor.
First of all they are free and they come in all different sizes and colors.
I decided to incorporate them on my clipboards with some sheet music. I love using sheet music in all sorts of ways and you can read more about that here.
I love to dress these clipboards up according to the seasons. Ideally these would reside in my home office, but until that day comes when I have my own proper work space they hang out in the family room.
I’ve used leaves in many ways through the years. I love to use real leaves since I find them all around me but you can always find faux versions at craft & home decor stores if your prefer to go that route.
A few years ago I tucked them in with pine cones and pumpkins in my tiered silver server .
I also love to use leaves as decorative coasters like for these candles on our thanksgiving table a few years back.
{it’s hard to spy so I added the arrow to help you spot it}
On the fall porch I just shared, I also tucked some between the cinderella pumpkins.
They add that extra texture and color.

I also tucked leaves with some nuts in my new baguette basket; you can read about the basket here.
So you see you can tuck leaves into any bowl or basket or container with other elements to create a great autumnal feel in your decor.
So easy and natural, which adds great color and texture in such a small detail.
“Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the autumn tree.”

Mary Jo, I love using natural elements for fall. The leaves and sheet music clip boards are a fabulous idea! I have a giant clip board that I picked up at a thrift a year ago and have yet come up with a fun idea as to what to do with it. Love your new baguette bowl too!
hugs,
Jann
Thnx Jann! Everyone always asks me why we have clipboards hanging in our family room. Lol. Including my own kids. It’s just me. xo- mj
Love every little thing you featured, so Autumnal and wonderful. I so enjoy seeing photos of how so many bloggers decorate for Fall. Your clip boards are great, been thinking would like to have some to hang my Fall printables, much quicker than having to find enuf frames in my stash. Love the leaves and pine comes hung with music.
Happy weekend
I like to use natural elements, too. Love that baguette basket! Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm:)
